They shared the same language, believed in the same gods with the rest of ancient Greeks (Sparta, Athens) and participated to Olympic games as well. @sotious Macedonians exist as a nation, there are abut 300.000 in Pirinic part and 500.000 in Aegean part, occupied by Greece in 1913. In 2013 the treaty of Bucharest can be reopend by some european power, probably Germany which in that time was on the side of the Macedonians. Aegean part is 50 % of Macedonia, the rest is Pirinic part 12%, and Vardarian Macedonia has 37% of the territory of ethnic Macedonia. 1% is in Serbia and Albania.

I only quoted a part of a text about Macedonian land after WWI and II and Greek civil war around 48' when Greeks were doing ethnic cleansing of my people in the part they stole after 1913. Ur parents either didn't say anything about it, or you just deny the truth. But sooner or later truth always comes to the surface no matter how much you try to bury it deep in history; the more people dig to answer their questions the more they realize it!

@mmjlove3 In 1913 Macedonia and Epirus was returned to Greece after a 500 year enslavement by Ottoman Turks. It was not stolen, especially not from people around Vardarska area. Greek fought for those lands during Greek War of Independence. During civil war communist Slav speaking people (Skopians) were removed so the land could be returned to Greek speaking people. Walk through ancient Macedonia and the see the 4000 year history around written in Greek.

The Ottoman empire was the worst empire, sending Europe back to the dark ages. Any decision the Ottoman made about land division at the time is now rubbish. Greek blood spilled for it's Independence. After a 500 year Greek enslavement by Turks don't talk genocide of Skopians, whose history consists of anti-greek propaganda.
