I feel like you can only find nice stuff like she does at places like TJ Maxx in big cities. Where I live, I never see anything nice in them and whenever I find a designer label it is always fake. But whenever I go to stores like TJ Maxx in cities like Los Angeles or New York, I find such great stuff. And where I live isn't a small town or anything either! It is so weird, and totally unfair. I just don't get it... Am I missing something here?
@hennacatalyst I do understand what you're saying - I live in NYC but my family lives in Marlyand, so I've gone shopping at TJMaxxs in both locations...I think you're right that the big city stores have better stuff, BUT in my experience it gets snatched up really quickly, and the stores can get kind of crowded and crazy. In smaller cities the stuff might not be as great, but the shopping experience is better...do you find that as well? Anyway, thanks for watching :)
I did my christmas shopping under $100 simple very cheap I'm on a very tight budget so I had to find frugal ideas for gifts and shopped at dollar stores etc.
YAYY! I love TJ Maxx. Thank you Bitsy for sharing your awesome gifts!! I have been making crafts for friends gifts (t-shirt scarves and paintings). Other gifts... I've been doing a lot of internet shopping. On cyber monday I got a few good deals, and I used my emailed coupons for Kohles and Gordmans. I also am pretty good about picking up some gifts throughout the year, I love finding fun crafty gifts in the Fall at the Farmers Market!!
I'm saving this holiday by buying on sale, using those deal sites occasionally (re:1saleaday, etc.) and making some gifts handmade! Gotta get good use of that knitting skill. :)
I am saving this holiday by using coupons and discounts wherever possible. Example: JCPenny sends out coupons almost weekly and NY&Co is have a 50% sale and so is ELF. I am ONLY shopping sales.
I'm saving money on my holiday shopping by waiting for the best discounts online before making my final purchase, also walmart is guaranteeing their prices till Christmas so if you find a better deal you can get back the difference :)
I am taking my husband when i go shopping! It helps me to save $ by the fact that he does not like to shop & so therefore i dont linger & i get what i need & i am out! It works ...really!
my key to holiday shopping is setting a budget and then researching what I want to get- A LOT. i also buy my main gifts for 3 close family members but after that donate to causes in people's name and then give them cute little things in addition to the donation. i also have a gift box of cute things i've found over the years that would make good gifts
Savelogy and Groupon... Right now they're having get two gift cards for the price of one! And movie tickets! Who can beat that? Plus coupons to places like Macy's, Kohls, and Old Navy are fab right now.
I always shop at Marshall's or Century 21 for the gifts and stuff for myself! At Martshalls' by using their credit card I get $10 back for every $200 spent - so every time I need something, I always check first Marshalls ;-)
this year i'm crocheting and baking gifts for some people and going to sales for the other items while using my store membership cards to save even more
I saved money on gifts year by looking at the sales on the target ads and using the coupon on face. The one if you spend $ 50 you get a $10 gift card back. They did it for two weeks now.
I used etsy.com and bought some Christmas gifts. This makes me feel like not only am I saving money by buying homemade items, but I'm supporting small businesses. :)
I save money on holiday shopping by checking out the clearance racks, making homemade gifts, or sometimes i sign up to different websites and i get promo codes for different sales =]
TJ max has been getting better @ deals, while Ross & Marshalls prices have been going up. I'll be doing more shopping there this season. We're not meeting with some family till Jan, so I'll hit the after xmas sales.
By going to discount stores like Walmart, tjmaxx and the outlet stores. Having a set budget for everyone on my list helps. No going over 20 bucks. No exceptions. Can't spend what I don't have.
i'm using coupons for everything i buy, physical and online like groupons. a couple of places i like have had some great groupons in the past month, so i'm using those to basically shop at those places for half off!
I'm taking advantage of the discounts companies are offering on line. For example, Kheils gives you $20 to use on a purchase of $65 or more, promo code: HOLIDAY. Beauty.com has a 20% discount on most of their site some brands are excluded but there are still a lot of choices, just google beauty.com and chose the link to the 20% promo. And, finally amazon, great place to find great deals on books or magazine subscriptions, and also toys.
I'm going to shop at the 99 cents store this year because I can't afford to spend a lo of money. They have great spa sets for women that I can get for my mom, sister and grandma!
I'll be using my rewards credit card so i can use the rewards i have and also accumulate more points to put towards the balance and i'll be clipping coupons and checking out amazon lightning deals and deals of the day.
I'm making movie baskets for my brothers family. I buy basket though out the year, and at Christmas I pick the latest family friendly movie and full the basket with movie watching snacks. All for about $40.00. Not bad for a family of 6!
IM taking advantage of coupons mailed to me or printed in the ads of department stores. Also, check the clearance sections of handbags....they usually have great stuff :)
I have never been good at saving money, but when I've set a budget for myself before going into a store that always seems to keep my spending in check and puts me into a different mindset.
Being a single Mom, I'm always bargain hunting to save money. I'm really into crafts so one thing I do to save at Christmas time is make presents for my nieces. Headbands, crochet a scarf, make jewelry or make things for them to play dress up. They love it and take better care of the items because I made them. :)
How i save money...well i ask the store if they are having any sales or up coming sales coming up if they do i put my items on hold on til that sales...some other are if im going to a certain store i go to their website to look for coupons because most stores has coupons in there website and all you have to do it click and print...thats how i save my money for the holiday
First I bought a lot of stuff last year after christmas when things were on clearance(ornaments, etc.) and stored them to give this year as presents and then I also use a site called swagbucks and have been storing amazon gift cards all year to use for Christmas,it has been great!
I have been saving money for months! Buy saving money i can find something sure but cheap too! I think I'll have some money left over to buy me something cute! Thanks for the tip!
I am making a lot of my gifts this year! From jewlery , ornaments & good baskets. I got a lot of the craft stuff on clearnace & basket with 40% off sales or reused the one i had around the house.
I'm so excited!! :)) I have been planning on what I am getting for everyone months ago and I have been saving up since the beginning of the year! Christmas is going to be here so soon, I can't wait!
