one of the many asounding qualities about extreme (speaking about stuff later than Extreme III) is that they never recorded anything that they wouldnt be able to perfectly reproduce live. my god, Nuno can chew up van halen and spit him out. His melody, his style, his poly-rythms. hes so fucking good.
@Tusk548 No the band that you are watching is Extreme Nuno dyed his hair blonde at one point...besides listen to the riffing. It has Nuno written all over It.
@lp6599 the guitar player????? HE'S NUNO FUCKING BETTENCOURT, you better look up who we re talking about.. probably the most talented rock guitar player alive
Pearl Jam, Alice and Extreme have very seperate distinct flavors(I am a fan of all3). Even Eddie Veddar and Layne Staley had musicians and genres that influenced them-what's so wrong with being open minded? Any way, being a huge Extreme fan, the whole punchline album was remniscent of 3 sides. They definetly had a new sound that was changing with the era. Sorry to hear you did not like it. NUNO RULES!

There is something incredibly mediocre about this band
I understand that nuno is fast . I understand that mangini is a monster .
I understand all of that
Yet their music seems to be a surreptitious mutilation/blending of mediocre 80's rock pumped up with distorted power chords and unimaginative vocal melodies.
Nono changed his sound to accommodate the times?
Yeah he bought a classic rig and played on the neck pickup ...same nuno out of a Fender Tweed ....
Actually, that could sound pretty cool imo. Badmotorfinger meets Punchline. Particularly on this song, it could rock. Maybe Nuno and Chris should collaborate in teh future.
This song is so much better live

DAMN, this sounds just like the record. Awesome.

The CD starts with them demonstrating that they are playing "live" in the studio. That is what makes this raw record so brilliant.

i always feel smthing is lacking in gary's voice when they're live! Sublime performences in studio but live...

Yeah, I don't understand why so many Extreme fans hate this CD. I love it. It's so raw and so in your face.

it was raw and amazing. Pornagraffiti wasn't raw, but still amazing. i thought this was there strongest album especially because of mike mangini.

Nuno is amazing, but i like his extreme stuff much more than the solo stuff. It's a shame that he broke up the band in 1996. Well, what can you do?
