Uh... Disney's Pocahontas has almost NO PARALLELS with the real life events. It's John Smith did grow a bit more to appreciate their culture after a bizarre encounter with the natives, but nothing like in the Disney film.

Again, do some research. And no, Avatar's story is not original. It's basically Dances with Wolves meets Call Me Joe meets Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter of Mars series (AKA Barsoom). Does that make it bad? No.

Movie was sub-par. Basic good vs evil with stereotyped characters. Unnatural dialogue and bad one-liners. And an anti-capitalism theme being forced down our throats. But...good effects. But that can't make a movie. You can have the best 3D to immerse you; but a good story and relatable characters is so much better.

For shame Mr. Cameron. You were my favorite director up till this point. But I guess every director is allowed a bad one.

While I do agree the story could have been better, everything else becomes too fallacious that it questions whether you have a keen eye for great movies. Cameron did an excellent job in integrating different motifs in his work. Additionally, the acting and dialogue especially from the CG characters felt natural and genuine.Too bad it's 'subpar', if it was a great, Cameron would have surely destroyed the industry. I guess he has to settle in outdoing himself and all other films 12 years later.

I didn't care for it. Yes, the 3D effects were cool but not cool enough to save a very lame story about cowboys vs. indians (big blue ones instead of little read ones). This type of story only works if its centered around strong characters and a strong script. Effects alone can not make up for poorly executed dialog, acting and storyline. Now if you're looking for an indian vs. whiteman movie with excellent acting and story telling then I recommend A Man Called Horse or Little Big Man.
