@TheGreatRL american jews are about 2.2% of population, a similar number for american muslims (though that's a harder number to pin down)
10% is way more than any other minority position as I said (and there are the atheists that are scared to come out too so that number is a conservative estimate), so people should start realising that.

It's hard to say who would still give if their religion vanished tommorow, but I would wager many people wouldn't stop being good. It's also very difficult to get a number on atheists since in many places admitting it is social (or occasionally physical) suicide.

This praying day is very off. I'm religious but I don't believe in prayers that way. It's just bullshit what they are doing.
Problems are caused by people. Not by religion. Religion does not have a power to act on its own and no text speaks on its own. A book sais nothing until someone reads and interpret it (wich is very subjective and based on previous experience and what certain words mean to that specific person etc).
I'm honestly kind of worried about our next president. None of the candidates seem any good, and Obama being reelected would just be the same we have now. A lot of people say Ron Paul would be the best choice, but it's highly improbable that he'll get enough votes to win. All we have after those two are crazy Conservative religious nuts like Perry. @Acrimonator You dumb as a box of rocks. I have been to prison here in texas two times. The prison church was close to the chow hall and showers at both prisons I went to. Never saw but 20 to 30 christians come out on sundays. The thousands of other inmates didn't go because they are atheist.

Once a year I might see someone in a restaurant pray before eating & I eat out allot. So thousands don't believe in God that they should pray & give thanks before eating. Get the picture yet? 10% is way more than any other minority position as I said (and there are the atheists that are scared to come out too so that number is a conservative estimate), so people should start realising that.
Alas we don't make threats like religions do, so we're relatively easy to ignore. Oh well, people will eventually see reason.

It's hard to say who would still give if their religion vanished tommorow, but I would wager many people wouldn't stop being good. It's also very difficult to get a number on atheists since in many places admitting it is social (or occasionally physical) suicide.

This praying day is very off. I'm religious but I don't believe in prayers that way. It's just bullshit what they are doing.
Problems are caused by people. Not by religion. Religion does not have a power to act on its own and no text speaks on its own. A book sais nothing until someone reads and interpret it (wich is very subjective and based on previous experience and what certain words mean to that specific person etc).

I'm honestly kind of worried about our next president. None of the candidates seem any good, and Obama being reelected would just be the same we have now. A lot of people say Ron Paul would be the best choice, but it's highly improbable that he'll get enough votes to win. All we have after those two are crazy Conservative religious nuts like Perry. I had a conversation with the owner of a geology / fossil shop who was a young Earth creationist. She used her age as a reason not to read a book I suggested: "I'm 53." I was like, "Well, I'm 42. I reserve the right to change my mind if presented with new information." I offered to read any book she suggested if she would read one I suggested. No go.
Now I'm pushing 44 (this month). I still reserve the right to change my mind. :)
