@altha2008 go to your graphics card settings (e.g. nVidia nView, or ATI CCC), choose I cannot see my other display, click check for others, and the Force TV Connection checkbox will be checked, Apply the settings, and reboot from there. After that, if it worked, go to the nVidia nView or ATI CCC, and select the clone (PC Monitor + TV), and apply changes (sets the default to the max. resolution for a TV set)
Their located in either Control Panel, or on the Task Bar where the notifications are located). Otherwise, right-click on the Desktop and point to NVIDIA Control Panel, ATI CCC, or Graphics Properties for the Intel Graphics Card (laptops)
warchild1976 have... I connected the pc to TV by SVideo to Scart Plug, and the picture on the Tv is getting Black and White... Any help? Any how can I see the actual monitor on the TV not half on the mitor and half on TV
Can anyone tell me what the problem is if my TV doesn't show color? I used the s video and then audio cables, everything works great, but no color on tv??? thanks
I tried to connect my TV to my PC using an S-video to Composite video cable, but when I turn the TV on, it cuts the electric. I have a 14" Matsui CRT TV.
i have a alienware computer quite expensive and i cant figure out why i cant get my tv to be my monitor i am using s-video cable and i have gone to properties and right clicked to attach the screen but after i apply it its still faded out and saying its still disabled im not sure what to do any thoughts? mail me if you can myspace mail dat is thx
heyy i av a goodmans tv quite old naw good screen ns tha but i dont have that blue moniter plug to put i kno theres a way of connecting it but i dont kno which leadfs i have to use can someone help me ?
I've got the s-video and the s-video/rca adapter, tried connecting both to the tv from my laptop (inspirion), but i can't get the tv to recognize the computer that's trying to connect it as a monitor. Already "attached" it in properties>settings and fooled around with the video card tons... any advice? the tvs i've tried are a sony and a memorex, if that's at all useful... :o(
have you checked the av channels? or pressing source if its an LCD TV. Other than that maybe your graphic card cant be used for dual screen or something.. :(. It should work tho if everything you did correctly. It worked on a 12 yr old TV like in the video and also on other tv using the RCA yellow adapter as well.
I have connected an s video cable to my computer then to my tv, i have gone to setteings and done everything that is needed the tv only displays the background of my computer, i cant see the mouse or the icons, when i open a program to view it doesnt show on the tv, i am frikin tired of this crap, i think the problem is that i need to buy one of those yellow cables that hook up mto tv and my pc, whats the fucking problem man?
so the wallpaper is visible on the tv? if it is, it means that the tv is an extension of your monitor, icons wont appear there as it will be on the monitor, to view something on it you have to drag and drop the window media player or whatever and maximised it on your tv. the keyword is drag and drop to the TV screen , e.g drag to the right.
Yup, if your graphic card supports HDMI, get a HDMI to HDMI cable (all new LCD have a couple of HDMI slots) HDMI allows you to transfer picture screen res at digital quality and also sound so you can hear the sound from your tv. DVI also have the same quality for images like HDMI but without the sound capability. Everything will look crisp cos its digital and no more analog, but it still depends on the video resolution you are playing (Best if it is HD res at 1900 x 1080 )
Yeah tv sucks for viewing text, thats why im now using a Samsung LCD tv which I connect from my pc (graphic cards) using a dvi to hdmi connector so everything is digital and crisp and not analog like the s-video.
it was just a shortcut key so as to toggle between either monitors. Not needed actually, both can be dual view with their own unique native resolution. All you need is to just drag and drop into the tv screen and maximize.
after plugging in the S-video, right click on desktop>properties>settings and you will see that theres now 2 "monitors" One of them is not "attached" so right click on that monitor and choose attached and click ok. SO now you have 2 monitors.
If for example you wanna view movies, some vga needs you to drag and fullscreen window media player(or whatever player you wish) on the tv. Some vga automatically open in fullscreen on the TV.
If that still doesnt work, your graphic card is not S-Video abled :(
Buy an S-Video Cable. You need to have a S-Video able VGA (Graphic Card). Most TV and what ever visual device you have will mostly support S-video, since it's convert able to the usual, yellow jack(visual), or just shove into the S-video input on your TV. You just need an external Sound output.
will i be able to play a game on my pc monitor while my gf watches a movie on the tv screen?

Wouldn't your computer monitor be bigger than that? Thats like the smallest TV I've ever heard of..
xapollox127 3 years ago
The smallest thing I've used as a PC monitor is a 4.5" portable TV.
