i think roller and ice have their advantages and disvantages (i dont know if its well write, i speak spanish) becouse for example, in roller, for landing jumps, its easier becouse you have more supportt, but in ice you can make more revolutions in the spins, in roller you have the invertid camel, but in ice you have the biellmann spin, thats my opinion
no, is harder because think that there are girls that start at 10 years to skate on ice and 1 year after she is at double axel, in roller skating it's not possible.. i have done ice skating, but i don't liked that so i changed in roller... try and tell me what do you think about!
In roller skating, there are no edges on to jump off from. And in figure skating its hard to get used to those edges and the toe puck always throws you off when you do footwork.
I tried roller skating before and anyone can learn to do it. Many people that figure skating do off-ice moves with roller skates becuase its alot easier and if they can't afford to go to the ice rink every single day.
In roller skating there are edges to jump off from. When you do i think its grade 9 for free skating. If you don't start/land on the correct edges you won't pass.

no, i don't think so. in roller we have edges, and our jumps are more difficoult.. try to think to the energy that you have to put on a skate in the ice and the energy that you need to move a roller on the floor... it's harder! and on roller there are some figures that in ice you can't do, like the inverted camel, the broken ankle spin, and so much ago..
This is not so hard to do.. I'm a roller skating too and I've done this for the first time when I was 12.. I saw her in Germany and on the European Championships, she's great and that's the easier combo that she has in her performance, belive me.. :-)
i can do stuff like that on figure skates! i'm so amazed by roller skaters. it just seems so much harder than figure skating. well, i wouldnt know. i've never roller skated before. but in her double lutz it looks like its on an inside edge.
not a big deal in roller judges really don't care about correct edge take-offs. The longer the combo the better. Thats why your don't see long combos like this on ice.
ohhh. i've heard it's a lot easier to balance on roller skates. in my long program i do a double lutz-double loop- double loop combo and an axel-half loop-double flip. those would count a lot in figure skating, unless you were in the junior or senior level. then you would need all triples and triple-doubles. so have u tried figure skating?
Yeah I couldn't get over falling and getting wet. Not to mention the fact the roller skating was a strain on my family's resources so ice was just to expencive. Plus my parents believed in saving the planit and ice skating using too much energy for their liking.
thats becouse you dont know really good judges, becouse the judges that are in my country, see if the edges, the speed, if you complette the revolutions in both air and spins and everything, that you dont know about roller artistic skating is something very different!!! i live in mexico.
i know. i'm not a roller skater, i'm a figure skater and i can do that combination on the ice. but i am extremely impressed with roller skating. it looks way harder than figure skating. but i wouldn't know. but roller skater does look like a lot of fun :-D
get over yourself all ready. I can land triples, but I don't go around leaving snotty comments everywhere......what she did there 2lz/l/2l/half-loop/2f is not easy....
Well said! I'm so sick of snotty comments....and it's always from people that give negative criticism and obviously have nothing to back it up with..........and why must we argue if artistic or figure skating is better? I've done both and both have high points...I love both, though I am more in love with artistic....
a girl in my parallel class won the german roller skating championships. Wow I'm so proud that she's in my club :)

Roller skating is easy to do, and thats why people dont really make it big through that sport.

Also you in figure skating you can't do so many jump combinations in one becuase 2 or 3 is harder then you think it really is.

I only seen a couple of spins from roller skating.
Why do some people use the old skates? I know the new skates with four wheels in a row, have edges but not the old ones that have 2 by 2 wheels.

omg i figure skate and double-double-double combos are so hard.

her back needs to be straighter, her jumps would be a lot higher. i'm a figure skater so idk exactly how roller skating jumps should look
