The film may not be an award winner but Jane Fonda darn sure makes it a winner in my book. She was then and still is a Beautiful Woman ... She also made some great movies and turned in some great performances. Three thumbs up !!!

Sundroid, You miss the point. 2001: A Space Odyssey is a Sci-Fi drama. Barbarella is a Sci-Fi comedy. While both are films, they are as different as apples and oranges (which are both fruit, but very, very different, each with it's own qualities.)

Barbarella is a masterpiece in it's genre every bit as much as 2001 is in it's genre. Too bad you cannot seem to enjoy each for what it is.

I've always thought it's a mess to compare Barbarella to 2001 Space Odissey - they're completly different movies. It's like comparing Star Wars with Spielberg's Close Encounters of Third Kind.
