So fine. I think the bass adds presence to this fine performance. I think it's funny that in the comments several people have said Mr. Hendrix would dislike this treatment of his song. They don't quite appreciate the experimental mentality that he embraced; Im sure he would have approved. My only concern would be that the drum kit was not properly miked and mixed, this is not a real problem, perfection is a goal.
Mesmerizing. I'd love to hear more traditional sitar lines superimposed over the groove, though. Is the bass player using an auto-wah filter? It adds a nice bounce. A nice touch would be to have some heavy guitar feedback in the background (but not too loud).
Well my friends jimi did say, that when he passes on he wants people to play his music and just have fun, and go crazy with it. So I doubt Jimi is turning his head in his grave, he's probably bobbing his head.
Cracking up here! Dude you SUCK! First, you aren't playing the sitar properly! Second, if people are impressed, it's only because they rarely see a live sitar in the West and the uneducated like yourself wouldn't know a good tune from their ass or a hole in the ground! Third, Jimi is turning over in his grave! and finally, if I catch myself trying to pass off for a transendentle post-hippie, irrespectable, pro-sitar player at your age, Please don't leave any tips on your way out the door!
Did someone record this with tablas and indian instruments altogether? Would love to hear such a version... anyone?

I think that strange growl bass line is appropriate as background to the Sitar, which is the natural lead instrument

Is this bass player deaf? Has he ever heard the record? Would love to hear what he would do with In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida or Smoke On The Water?

I personally would prefer this without an auto-wah? on the bass. It sounds like a wet noodle to me.

Mixing Hendrix-rock with the sitar is, of course, a splendid idea.
