  • mario`s voice is funny........it sounds a bit like luigi`s scream at 0:19

  • Comment removed

  • Allons-y

  • Ermm, that slide is still in the game.

  • The coins....why do they look like the coin sprite from Paper Mario?

Still, they look better, but more realistic.

  • If they still have a working copy of this thing (or others like it), they should one day do a huge historical Mario compilation game, with all sorts of bonus features, "achievements" , making-of's, trailers, and playable, spliced beta levels or otherwise unused parts of the game included as unlockables. Just something cool for those of us who grew up playing all these great games who know them all so well.

  • Is it just me, or does this look better than the final game....

  • @leangreenbean333 wtf... the voices are creepy, give me the final version anyday.

  • i am from france, this is a somewhat trailer on a channel called canal +

  • lol

  • mario sounds weird.

  • strange why theses snow mountains in the bg of the painting ?..

  • The beta looks better than the released version.

  • @Bylga its probably because they hadnt compressed the textures yet

  • What happened to Mario's Voice? It's so high in the beta!!!

  • I can't help but think this commercial was in France

  • damn that slide was trippy.

  • 0:19 gangsta mario braaap

  • this rare Beta game would be worth a lot of money, as a collectible. Worth more than the retail product.

  • he went the wrong way loool.

  • Anyone notice all other countries get beta clips besides the USA?

    1. Japan

    2 .Mexico

    3. France

    4. England

    5. Australia

    (not in any order)

  • What painting was that?

  • cool coin sounds =o

  • better coin sound, textures, and hud!

  • the slide isn't beta. It can be found in the present game

  • @afireinside25

Well, you enter it in a different way than this.

  • RUH!

  • his voice is wierd (mario's)

  • The ring the coins make when you pick them up have a sour chime to it. It's... different. 0.0

  • Coudonc on a toute conservé les beta des hits de la N64 en français! XD

  • howd he reach the wet dry world slide at 0 stars?

  • @SuperKirbyLover - He means Super mario 64, made by Nintendo, on the Ultra 64, the beta Nintendo 64. And this is Mario, not Kirby. So don't bring him into this.

  • u stole Ultra fron Kirby SuperStar Ultra and made it this,Super Mario Nintendo Ultra 64

  • @SuperKirbylover1 hey buddy kirby superstar ultra came out way after the nintendo 64. besides the original for the snes was called kirby superstar.

  • Odd.. That painting was unrecognizable and the part of the slide that usually leads to death led to the end?

  • the origanal sm64? then remade it? then made it on ds! lolz quiz me ANYTHING bout nintendo!

  • @legogamer98 im guessing thats a commercial or something, before it was released, and it showed beta stuff from the game, but changed it

  • Oh hey! That slide is different than the real one in game! The path that he took usually throws you off the end into black death, but here there's even more slide! :O

  • The coins are more...interesting to get, and the slide reminds me of one in the DS version.

  • im glad that was just the beta

the finished one looks way better

  • 0:18

Ive seen that before, but couldnt remember what the painting looked like.

  • they took out the dead end on the slide

  • I like the version of the Bob-omb Battlefield music used at 0:21

  • It's kind of interesting how that 90's console war ended up with Sega not getting their major 3D sonic game finished (Sonic Xtreme), and getting almost completely obliterated by Mario after 4 or so years of being at the top.

  • @cartoonmarc even in the SUper Nintendo era, Nintendo was keeping up a good fight against the Genesis, but they released their good games once an year while sega relased games as fast as Sonic's running!!!! While it was a close race for supiriority in the U.S, Super Nintendo ended up to beat Genesis(in sales), and the Nintendo 64 was released after the Saturn and PS1 and was still able to catch up to sega Saturn, Sony won that generation by a long shot(in sales)

  • @shadowing00

I thought the SNES beat the Genesis easily in the US. Once the SNES came out wasn't it vastly more popular then the Genesis?

  • @NinjaMuffinMaster yea dude thats my point, cuz the guy cartoonmarc says that Genesis was beatin super nintendo 4 years in a row, but i told him that super nintendo was still more superior here in the states!!! yea but lets not forget that Sega did took half or almost the whole market place during the early 90s cuz of old skool Sonic,pfffff... but compared to the sales of Super Mario World(up to 20 million units world wide)Sonic got raped XD

  • @shadowing00

The Genesis was basically made to go against the NES and just that. When the SNES came out with superior sound, graphics, and more (plus arguably better quality) games it went down the gutter with only Sonic to support it..

  • @NinjaMuffinMaster yea and the Genesis had plenty of arcade ports, but the Super Nintendo was original and had some of the greatest games out there(Super Mario World,WOrld 2,Donkey Kong, Super Metroid, F Zero,Starfox,Legend of Zelda, ect.)as the list goes on....

  • woah they should have kept the slide

  • I think that the mario model and the coins both look better

  • Comment removed

  • 0:03 "That is a question"

  • Can someone who speaks french translate the gist of what this guy is saying?

  • He's saying that the upcoming Super Mario 64 will be in 3D, but it doesn't mean it will be a good game. You will have to actually play it to judge by yourself

Yeah this ad sure is old

  • 0:20

mario's voice reminds me of doopliss from paper mario 2 o.O

  • Some of the things in the beta they should've kept. like the coins. I like the feel and the look of it.

  • Painting world!

  • sacre bleu

  • This is the same slide that's in Tall Tall Mountain... I wonder why they they changed it?

  • Never seen this before.

  • the brta coins look better

  • I find it interesting that in the Japanese release, Jolly Roget Bay had a different picture design you jump in, to releases elsewhere

  • i like these coins better

  • @Baka9990 me too

  • 2 aways in the slide O_O

  • 0:03 I guess the hungry hungry lava hippo was in this beta right?

  • I think that's supposed to be a Blarrgh from SMW. There's a "play as" code for him on YoshiElectrons's site.

  • I heard somewherethat miamoto was origionally supposed to voice mario. I think this is when he was still voicing mario

  • Hell the sounds here sound better (Like the Mario voice XD jk) than on the final version.

  • the bomb-omb Battlefield music has something diffrent about the music that i just can't put my finger on it.

  • it has different arrangements for percussion and it lacks some brass chorus phrases from the final arrangement.

  • how do u get to that slide level thing

  • Tall Tall Mountain

  • i beleive its in the snowy level you jump down the chimny on the hut/cabin

  • its in tall tall mountai

  • @rhyslightning12345 Tall Tall Mountain

    You still here, on Youtube?

  • 0:21. Ha.

  • wow, nintendo made the beta version had alot of bomb-omb battlefield music XD

  • What is beta version of game exactly?Early version of the game or something

  • yes the test version of a game before it was changed to the final project we know now

  • Oh.. I through that Beta is an unfinished version.

  • yeah it is the unfinished version

  • Wow this looks fun..And now I feel sad,is the actual game is on the VC?

  • Yes it is but it's the finsl version not beta ok NaruhinaX Sasusaku

  • coin sounds are a lot better

  • it looks like a beta version of the princess's secret slide to me...

  • no thats the tall tall mountain slide

  • They didn't leave it like that because of a bug: You start speaking french when the game starts.

  • dat eez ze question.

  • The Beta version of Yoshi's Story looked way better too.

Seems like they got very far with the original Zelda beta before they scrapped the entire thing. I've wanted to play it for years and years. And of course theres Earthbound 64, if only there would be an english rom

  • Nintendo must of had some problems with SM64BATA. Bata looks a lot nicer. But the game is still good.

  • Im going on a limb and saying he is french... am i right?

  • @Metallica4death "zat is ze ques tion" yes i think he's french too lolol but that's not because some speak like him, that every fuckin french are the same you know

  • @Metallica4death i think hes japanese (sorry it took 2 years to awnser your question)

  • @EdgoIsGo

    WAY OFF. He's french.

  • @Metallica4death yeah i think hes french

  • @Metallica4death noooooooooooooo really?

  • @Metallica4death japanese

  • The slide is in the finished version in Tall Tall Mountain. The route Mario goes in this vid is changed to a dead-end.

  • I wonder y they didn't leave it there

  • Beta is Waaaaaay Better

  • i used to play that game before.. I love it *.*

  • what is this

  • An in-progress version of Super Mario 64, a game released for the Nintendo 64. This version was never made for the public, and was used to test out the game and change stuff before the final version came out.

  • cool thx

  • 0:16 super konkarus world

  • i heard that firedragon973 found one

  • i want to play this version so bad with marios diffrent high voice plus when you walk in the door wher bowser is peach like screems

  • Well that slide is in ds version...

  • and in the 64 version.

  • well, while i been working in my beta remake project, i find that painting slide, actualy that exist in tall tall mountain like a lot of people say, and this is separated in 2 diferent areas, well actually i dont know how to replace the original peach's slide by the beta one well. i've uploaded a video showing that slide in toad's tool 64.

  • The first jump Mario uses in this video makes it sound like he's getting speared O.o

  • It looks better.

  • Hey, I never saw that painting at 0:18!

  • It's got to be a beta,so they must have just removed that stage after the commercial hit.

  • 0:20 That slide is actually in the game. If you don't believe me, ask anyone who has completely beaten Tall Tall Mountain or gotten all 120 stars.

  • i got tall tall mountain complete and nothing :(

  • I found it on Tall Tall Mountain. Actually, I think it's a secret star... no, it's not. You didn't really finish Tall Tall Mountain, did you?

  • oops sorry was cool cool mountain sorry XD

  • they should have put donkey kong in this game.

  • is this like a new one? or the old one

  • batas always have way better graphics anyone notice that man like zelda64bata mario64 bata

    like man >:(

  • that does look like it has better graphics....

as for zelda64 beta, the graphics looked more clear and cartoony. the final orcarina of time had blurred textures.

  • The beta did use a lot of 64x64 textures while the released game used mostly 32x32 textures, probably due to ROM space constraints.

  • batas always have way better graphics anyone notice that man like zelda64bata mario64 bata

    like man >:(

  • where can i get super mario 64 beta online?

  • shit i wish i still had my sm64 box

I swear to god on the back it had the beta hud, similar to this one shown here

  • whoa, paper mario coins!

  • Notice How the life icon looks like Paper Mario

  • The coins looked so much cooler.

  • wtf!?

  • wow, where the slide breaks off and becomes a death drop off in the complete version it keeps going in the beta..

  • what? That's how it was moron >_>

  • I am aware it's in the tall tall mountain level-not the tall mountain level- there is no "faster way down", you have to turn on the brown flooring or you will fall down and die, look it up. And if I recall even the finished product had no edges. Before you start being a jerk, why don't you try and figure out what you're talking about first.

  • Nice Painting.

  • doomsdaywarrior yeah i was looking at the slide im like it looks so familiar to that giant mushroom level i guess they didnt want it to be a level just a mission in a level,

  • You're stupid.

  • ok...why the hell am i stupid

  • Can't you see it says this is the bet version? And it's Super Mario 64, not Super Mario 64 DS.

  • *beta

  • That's a real slide in the game. I think it's in the mountain painting. It's always best to find things with cheats there.

  • Sell it. Can't tell that Nintendo was on dat (snort)? That is the question.

  • bob4ever2 the slide is NOT in the real version of the game

  • You are just such a noob that you haven't found it yet. The entrance to the slide is hidden in the level with the 8 red coins on those giant mushrooms.

  • wow this comment system is crap. anyways annthony, my comment that starts with 'you are such a noob' is directed at you.

  • i know

  • bob4ever the slide is NOT in the real version of the game

  • i know

  • in the real one where is that slide

  • I don't remember what the level is called, but it's in the painting of the red mushrooms on the second floor of the castle.

  • Does this version of the game even exist anymore? If somebody could somehow get this and make it a downloadable ROM that would be perfect

  • HI poop

    lol im bored

  • THE BETA VERSIONS OF SUPER MARIO 64, SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE AND SUPER MARIO GALAXY WHERE MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN THE ALPHA VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!, Luigi shoodve been in sunshine and 64

  • what's with the french guy? this would really be cool without him.

  • He's probably reviewing the Beta version when it was somewhat current.

  • I agree that the original mario 64 is the best but.. just look at the graphics of this beta, they seem a little better than the original

  • Why do beta versions always look better?

  • Because you're used to the final version, and this has the novelty of being something different.

  • its more like the novelty of being the original. I love to find out all of the original stuff out because you can sit there and sift through data that in turn went unused, and what it may have been for

  • wat did he say

  • Original is better)

  • People think this looks better than the final version because it's human nature. If this was the final and we saw videos of the Super Mario 64 we have now, we'd think it was better.

  • ya they need to release playable versions of those betas

ive seen the castle beta picture too

    looks crazy

    need to find playble versions

  • The coins sounds so cheap

  • anyone know if they "dumped" the rom of the beta? and where to get it?

  • no rom its a vid of a beta probable from a Nintendo demonstration

  • oh. darn, I was hoping I could play  ;_;

  • yeah l wish l could play it too lol l really like beta games theyre so crazy just look at OoT
