My impression when I first heard the guitar that this was a 60's surfing record however the song has elements of soul too. The back up vocal group sure do a superb job and the group arrangement undoubtedly is a doo wop one. One thing that I am certain ... all you need to do is hear this once or twice and the record grows on you. Thanks for sharing.

Yup. This record threw me off for a while because it's a west coast label but Singleton was producing in DC. It wasn't until about a year ago that my friend Hal told me that this is a NY group. I'm not sure if Eddie was originally in NY or if he was just doing a stint there for this one. I've seen his name on a few other NY/NJ productions as well

I always thought this was a soulful tune as well.. It's a hard one to classify, but to me it's more doo wop than anything else.
