  • Cant take it seriously ... Hitler has only got one ball....

  • 13 Idiots aren't very happy to be getting a proper dose of Britishness. :) Their loss. :)

  • eh why are they so emotionless?

  • @TheRegulated Stiff upper lip!

  • @TheRegulated Their faces lack any emotion because they're putting it all into the music. ;)

  • @londongamer really this song isnt that hard >.<

  • was this composed by Sousa?

  • Execellent playing! It is the first time that I see this music played in Church.

  • Music to my..... oh I shouldn't even bother.

    P.S love this song!!!

  • this is great i love playing this song!!!

  • nice sounds like Sousa

  • Why the heck are the french horns in the very back, like behind procession? WTF!?!

  • @Eli22B Probably to accommodate the acoustics of the room. Looks like there's a wall behind them, which would project better than playing into open space, since the bell faces backward. Just a thought though. Maybe the conductor just didn't like them.

  • @Eli22B they have a lesser yet strong part and can push more air.

  • were playing this song for contest

  • Where was the engine-driver when the boiler burst?

They found his ballocks a thousand miles away,

    Floating upon the Hudson Bay,

    His a***hole

    Was up a flagpole,

And his p***s in St Andrews common dines.

  • Holy Fuck!

  • splended performance

  • Hitler has only got one ball

    Goring's were way to small

    Himmler's were some what similar

And Goebbels had no balls at all

  • Hitler has only got one ball

Goring has two but very small

    Himmler is somewhat sim'lar

But poor Goebbels has no balls at all

  • lol at the guy with the cymbals.

  • colonel Bogey? Это не тот ли, который обосрался под Балаклавой?

  • Hitler he only has one, Georing he has two but they are small, Himler is something simler, And Geo-balls has no balls at all, Hitler has only got one ball, The other is in the albert hall, His mother, the dirty bugger, Cut it off when hitler was small. she put it on the apple tree, the wind blew it to deep blue sea, the fishes got out their dishes, and had scallops and bollocks for tea,

  • Just listen to the bass voice starting at 1:23

I swear, all I can think of is Darth Vader with a pirate suit, skull and crossbones helmet in the shape of a pirates hat and a lightsabre cutlass.

  • Flutes are the only ones plaing at first i think

thats how we plaied in my bad☺

  • we are playing this for our concert on wed

  • I played Bass clarinet for this song, I'd say its part is better then the tuba and bari sax.

  • I played the tenor saxophone and the part for it was terrible....I swiped the music for the treble clef baritone and had a MUCH better part...the counter melody.

  • ALL STREIGHT MARCH GO!!!

  • this song is best whistled. just me.

  • I play the Alto Saxophone. :) This song is awesome, its got a nice melody.

  • yeah,me too.i played the xylophone.

  • Maravilhoso, muito bom...

  • Thank you leelaurel!

  • simply outstanding!

  • Superb!! Quite possibly the best performance of this march that I have ever heard, and I've heard hundreds of them. Keep on playing!!

  • Lose the baton? The white baton stems from the days when there were no electric lights and helped the bandsmen see it. It's symbolic now..but I played in high school and college and I definitely prefer the director who uses a baton. I"ve experienced both and there is no comparison. Keep the baton.

  • Wow. Im struck dumb. JK! But awesome job

  • This is a great rendition of a classic song. Excellent work, all.

  • I try too finding any mistakes but, none I heard. Not even a professional military band can do any better. Well done, I loved

  • We played this in band too! :) It's a fun song to play, you're band did really good

  • i used to whistle the melody of this song since i remember, but never knew the actual title. amazing.

  • heyyy,thats my nick :D

  • I love playin this song on clarinet! Too easy though. All my friends agree.

  • Brilliant !

  • This march was composed by the regimental bandleader at Fort George, near Inverness in Scotland, in honour of his commanding officer who wasn't very good at golf.

    Hence: "Colonel Bogie".

    True story.... :-)

  • I don't think it is! It does have a golfing reference though...

  • Indeed it is - the composer was Lieutenant F. J. Ricketts (1881 - 1945) who was Director of Music for HM Royal Marines. SInce he was not allowed to publish under his own name at the time, he used the pseudonym "Kenneth Alford".

The tune was written in 1914, when Ricketts (Alford) was temporarily posted to Fort George - although this detail I have not been able to substantiate.

It was inspired by his CO who used to whistle a two-note phrase instead of shouting "Fore!" when playing golf.

  • i played this song at carnegie hall 4 days ago. We were good.

  • Diamoci una mossa,un po' di verve e di ottimismo...ce n'è tanto bisogno oggi.

  • tengo 4 años de tocar saxo alto y una de mis marchas favoritas es esta

  • i hate this song on bass clarinet

  • @luckyshortie9 I once knew a guy who played bass clarinet and OWNED his own instrument. What a NERD!

  • lol this song is in the nintendogs game for ds. i luv how good this band is. really good. =D

  • OMG! we have to play this song for my school band!!! we have to memorize it for a parade in 2 weeks!! tell me thats impossible!!! =O

  • Perfecto!

  • Hitler has only got one ball,

The other is in the Albert Hall,

    His mother, the dirty bugger,

Cut it off when Hitler was small.

  • LMAO!

  • Hitler has only got one ball,

Georing's pair are far too small

    Himmler, is rather simmler

but Goebbels, has no balls, at all!

  • @zBloodD3monz

    She threw it over Germany,

It fell into the deep blue sea!

The fishes got out their dishes,

And they had scallops and bollocks for tea!

  • @zBloodD3monz I have always fancied phoning up the box office at The Albert Hall and asking if the Hitler Exhibition was currently open for viewing.

    Lol

  • I find this "instruments up" command irritating, as though the musicians needed a command to put their lips on the mouthpieces. It's reflective of pomposity on the part of the conductor and servile submissiveness on the part of the musicians.

  • He does make a bit of a meal of it. I'm used to a tempo indication, then the other hand comes up. It's hardly any different to this, but somehow you just get the impression this guy is a douchebag...

  • You got it, baby. Thanks for noticing. I haven't been musical since junior high, but I can just see this shmuck doing his ubermeister routine all over these poor musicians. If someone could download a clip of the saxophonist throwing his instrument at him, I'd be grateful.

  • This 'shmuck' has earned the respect of his band members and is in fact a really nice person. The theatrical baton lift is for the effect of the DVD the band produced that day.

Incidentally, if someone were to throw a saxophone at him, he can play it a darn sight better than most of the band! - Band member

  • Well, it certainly HAD an effect: one of amateurishness.

  • Err... the band IS an amateur community band, not a professional band!

I joined when I'd been playing for 4 months. If you look closely, the majority of players are adults (hardly the type of band with a discipline problem) and the MD is not our 'teacher' he's from an Army music background. Hope this goes some way to explaining what you are actually seeing here.

Perhaps you should have stuck with music into college, you'd be in a better position to make a judgement...

  • Just tell him to lose the baton, for God's sake. You'll be happier. He'll be happier. He may even find himself having a better time if he (figuratively) takes off his sergeant's chevrons.

  • My music teacher says he does it just so we look organized. he doesn't like the look of people putting their insruments up all at different times. he likes to look professional. our uniforms look like we're from a prep school.. people have actually thought we were a prep school. so that's all i see the 'instruments up command' as.

  • But don't you see: professional is exactly how you don't look. You look like automatons. It seems as though there's a discipline problem and your teacher feels the need to overcompensate for it. Check out the shtick of Baremboim or Abbado or Ozawa or any of the other big conductors. It's less neurotic, more natural, more professional-looking.

  • meh, i don't think it's looks that bad, sorry.

  • Comment removed

  • it should be faster

  • not really...think of it as a march, would you be wanting to march on parade faster? military marches arent at the double quick

  • we're playing this.....

    yeah.....

    we pretty much suck.

did i say the concert is in a month?

    wish us luck!

  • my all county band in florida is going to play this at our concert however we are having a bit of trouble. the copy of the song we have is really blurry.

  • the sound is way to much compressed: some of the voices have disappered e.g. the piatti (cymbals)

  • gamaei alla h baritonia den akougete kala gmt.....

  • Nai re file...pas se kamia filarmoniki?

  • my band kinda sucks compared to this. Our concert is tonight too XD

  • Questa io lo suonata con il mio sax con la mia banda al concerto di Natale 2008 del giorno 18 dicembre 2008.

  • This is a good marching song, we march to this song in the Army very nice

  • i think that the cymbals are dragging on. they play good on time, but they need to muffle them after

  • Con la cancion sobre hitler quedara mejor jajaja

  • 'Hitler has only got one ball,

Goering has two but very small.

    Himmler is somewhat sim'lar,

But poor old Goebbels has no balls at all.

  • im playing this in the middle school band!!! i love it!!! its so much fun. that looks like my school too.

Hitler has only got one ball, The other is in the Albert wall, His mother, the dirty bugger, Chopped it off when he was small. She threw it into a conker tree It missed and went into to the sea The fishes got out their dishes, And had scallops and bollocks for tea.

  • The lyrics are as follows:

Hitler, has only got one ball.

Göring has two but very small,

    Himmler is somewhat similar,

But poor old Goebbels has no balls at all.

  • The Royal Marines Band is just better than this.

  • For anyone wishing to know, this is the derby concert band.

  • Fantastic..

  • very nice and high quality :) 5/5

  • Where is this being played? Which band is this?

I thought it was a bit slow too, but it sounds pretty good at this speed. Maybe the POWs in Burma were'nt marching very fast either.

  • Yeah I agree, but I play Tenor Sax in my 7th grade band. When we played it, it was just a little faster than this. So, just a bit slow, but still FANTASTIC.

  • in my middle school band we play this much faster woot! go monsoons!!!

  • as an ex army musician i,d say this a superb version, well done

  • they are playing it too slowly.our seventh grade band plays this and it is faster. great playing though

  • ever think that your seventh grade band might be playin it wrong? its a march not a sprint! and i play it in a marching silver band and this is exactly the speed we play it at.

  • same here. why would some one want to play it fast? it would sound retarded.

  • I love this. It reminded me of the nut job deputy headmaster who played it every Monday after morning assembly.

  • Part around 1:30 was always my fav. ^^ Though, also the hardest.

  • this was the first piece i ever saw two lines at once on my paper... it was terrifying, i was in 6th grade... it wouldn't be so bad except we had a nutjob director where everything was taken at the speed of light

  • Nice :)

  • Is that a diff BC??? doesn't look like any i've seen....especialy the neck...

    does seem slow...
