For those of you interested in learning how to play this beautiful song....you can find a full tutorial and sheet music on my page.....I hope it will help you in your musical journey...
I love this song so much and I play it often in the school and the kids bocome quiet and calm! Libera songs have the power to bring peace and love among the human beings! Thank you very much indeed to Robert and Libera and still many songs to warm the cold and lonley hearts of mankind.
@lylic72 At the end and when they start the main voices that are heard are Michael's and Tom's (both did the solo part for locus iste) and at the back all the other boys are singing =)
he/she would like them a lot to come here in the brasil to sing some of their beautiful music they have a voice beautiful tao good who knows one day they don't come here a lot in my paiz in the brasil taste from that music that one call adored
L.O.V.E IT!!!! It was playing during my Uncels Wedding and yeah it was A fabulous sight cuz i got to b the Flower Girl and it was really funny when my Uncel started Crying!
Locus iste a deo factus est, (This place brought forth into existence) In estimabile sacramentum (In estimable sacrament) Sanctus, Sanctus (Holy, Holy) Benedictus qui venit in Domine (Blessed is he who comes in the Lord) Sanctus Dominus Deus Sabbaoth, (Holy is Lord God of Hosts) Pleni sunt coeli et terra Gloria (Fully existent glory in heaven and on earth) Benedictus in nomine (Blessed is the name) Qui venit in nomine (??)
This viodeo is so great!! I cannot believe these children can sing so clear, well and high! I cant even sing that way! WOW! I love you guys! I hope that one day, me 15 can be as great as LIBERA!!
Congrats to Robert Prizeman -- just amazing work and big tip of the hat to the recording and mixing -- just an outstanding job. I've spent decades with choirs, grew up in a choir family, and these kids blow me away every time. Yes, KC is good but sooo traditional, Libera rules!!!
Eight years ago, it was the first time that I listened in a thing of Japan and the ending of a certain quiz show. I did not understand who sang and wanted to say that I came to here and at last understood it. I am going to buy the CD which the music was recorded in soon.
I spent time in 8 till I found it though I watched a certain TV program and at last was able to meet the music that oneself brought himself/herself and looked for!
i think he means the repetition of the words. but i wouldn't go so far as to say it is stupid. i don't usually pay attention to the lyrics of libera. its about the music for me
I do run a fansite about them called Libera Dreams. The link to the website is posted on my public page here on YouTube. Just click on my name and look for website on the left side. There you will find just about everything you want to know about the choir and the individual choristers themselves.

no wonder, this is just Sanctus...I thought the latter part sounded familiar.
still awesome in every way.
lor0707 3 years ago
i think its latin:
locus iste adeo factus est
in aestimabile nomen tuum
sanctus
benedictus benedictus qui venit in nomine benedictus in nomine domine
sanctus...
sanctus dominus deus sabaoth
pleni sunt caeli gloria
sanctus
locus iste ...
jojohenne 3 years ago
there is latin mistakes: it is"in nomine domini" (in the Name of the Lord) and "gloria tua" (Your Glory)

flicfan416 4 years ago
Me too. Actually, nobody has pointed out that the music itself is repettive...it IS pachebl's canon, after all, lol.
Doesn't matter for me. I'd rather listen to 100 reptitions of this than, say, death metal. But that's just my opinion.

it's nicely sung and all, but the text is ... well, stupid.
it's basically just a repetition of
"Benedictus, in nomine
qui venit in nomine
Benedictus, in nomine
qui venit in nomine
Benedictus, venit in nomine"
glockner 4 years ago
You forgot "Louste Iste, A Deo Factus Est, etc etc...." ;)
It's Sanctus from the Mass. A lot of composers such as bach et al. have used this text, repetitively....you wouldn't called them stupid, would you?
contrarymotion 4 years ago 2
i don't call the author stupid. but the text
glockner 4 years ago
Well, that's your opinion. It's been a part of the Mass for centuries.
The full text "Locus iste a deo factus est,
In estimabile sacramentum
Sanctus, Sanctus
Benedictus qui venit in Domine
Sanctus Dominus Deus Sabbaoth,
Pleni sunt coeli et terra Gloria
Benedictus in nomine
Qui venit in nomine"
contrarymotion 4 years ago 2
I happen to like the way that it allows the voices to shine through the vowels. It just wouldn't have the same effect in english.
contrarymotion 4 years ago 9
Very true. The Latin lyrics really make Libera's music even more unique and heavenly.

Its a LATIN WORD which is very nice to hear I love SANCTUS it's very HOLY.
