There's a terrific fictional interpretation of Carrhae in an old book called The Parthian by an author Mac Smith. I've long lost the book and can't find reference to either the book or the author on the net. I've long lost the book and can't find reference to either the book or the author on the net. Kurdish people have a lot closer ancestry with Armenians than they do with Iranians. the Kurdish language however is an Indo european language. the Kirmanji language is directly descended from the language of the Medes, the oldest aryan people in the area, about 200 years before the persians migrated. the Hawrami and yazidi language is older than even they.

Mesopotamian are another branch of people belonging to a completely different period of history. the only link between the ancient Mesopotamian and Arabs, if any exists is due to Arab migration into Iraq. Arabs appeared in history during no earlier than 900BC. they invaded Iraq defeating the sassanid Persians.

It was extremly hard to control a multi cultural empire at that time, but Koorush and the Persians succeed.

They were first used by the Parthian and Sassanid dynasty of Persia, the oldest known evidence of the cataphracts lies in a relief located in Iran/Persia, look upp ''Taq-e Bostan'' in google.
