It's because in Michigan we really only get HP (high precipitation) supercells, so we get low visibility. But, we had a pretty cool derecho last year, and my first ever tornado, but it was 2 am, so I didn't get any good footage.

A city is a geographically small area. Even in an area of relatively high tornado activity such as southern Florida such a small area has a low probability of being hit.

im north of you in Miami in brevard county and we see at the very least one tornado in out county per year, but most of the time they're fast moving and rain rapped nowhere near s photogenic as this one normally, but they have been known to cause quite a bit of damage

i cant say for sure if this is a fake but i can tell you the number of tornados that occur around the miami area are actually extremely high, especially in spring or summer. even more so during a hurricane. most of them only end up as water spouts meaning they stay over water and for the most part do not make landfall.

I remember that twister. I was on the 9th floor of the Bank of America building (Barnett Bank back then) and saw it form. It travelled NE bound past Bayside, over Macarthur Causeway and fizzled out over Venetian. Awesome site. Big twister but kinda weak.

omg... ya, even if it's coming from land to water to get to you, it can still turn into a waterspout, then hit you still, or it could get right in your face, and take a sharp turn... never know... i was in a tornado situation last week... 3 tornadoes ripped through my town... 1 an F1, and 2 were F0's, because they were in a storm... a tornado went through our backyard... threw all our stuff over our fence, but our fence is cemented into the ground, so it didn't move too much :-)
