at 12:32, when you start riding those maddening platforms, just arm Woodmans weapon, the shield of leaves kills all the enemies without you having to worry about anything. That is my personal recipe for success.

Just a little bit of advice to all people who like to play Megaman 2, when on the moving platform like at 12:40 , where you have to stand on a platform while the spinning robots come towards you, its actually a good idea to use Leaf Shield, it simply is like a barrier, it keeps them away without you having to use alot of it, use it once and when you're ready to get off send it out somewhere and jump off.

Strangely enough, the walls you destroy in the stage 4 boss room stay gone if you come back there. So if you screw up and don't hit the right walls on the first try, you can just die, try again and you should be able to handle it.

A faster way to kill Wood Man (so he doesn't get close enough to you) is Atomic Fire. Two fully charged shots kill him, just don't shoot at his shield

Oh, and if you're low on energy in any of the levels with the birds, don't shoot the birds; just pick metal blades as your attack power and shoot the birds that hatch from the egg. Believe me, it works, and I think you are more frequent to get 1-ups from it than usual as well as it usually only took me 3 sets of the hatched birds for me to get a 1-up.

you definitely don't have to be on the ladder to get across that huge gap. I always stand on the top of it. you just have to move quickly and be on the very edge of the 1 platforms when you sent out the next one.

This game was too hard imo, the difficulty is that you can die so easily and then have to restart so far back. Of course, the way it looks today where many games got quicksave at every possible point isn't the right difficulty either :)

I had no idea Bubble Lead worked so good on that boss that comes out of the wall. I've always used Metal Blade on him; I find the multi-directional very helpful.

A few things. If you just stand at the top and spam quick boomerang, and keep spamming it, the game'll glitch and you'll take no damage.

1 shot from the Cannon can get rid of bird eggs.

arm cannon works well for the drill potion. No need for blades

Conserve energy for weapons. You'll need it, cause it isn't easy to farm further on in the stages.

In the third stage, on the first elevator area, you can just stand on the moving platform and use Leafshield to protect yourself and item farm.

You can get as many game over's as you want.

You lose all your E-Tanks, but all of your weapon energy is refilled.

Another tip (which may be considered sort of a cheap glitch) is when you are falling in the beginning of the final stage to immediately get to the right of the screen. When you land, you will be to the right of the screen rather than centered. Immediately run through the lava drips without stopping, and none of them will react fast enough to fall on you.

It's easier done than said.

I remember hating the crash bomb boss.

1st attempt, you get in there, get shot everywhere, see the walls and start blowing them up, and then grimly realize you didn't have enough crash bombs to start with. Die slowly.

Attempts after that were mainly being horrorfied that even a full bar won't break every wall and that you had to shoot only specific ones, or being pissed that you went through the level again and missed a crash shot.

did you know on the final fight with wily, from the start of the level, if you stay right, you can run past all the lava drips without having to dodge them. you just can't stop running, but you'll run past all of them before they drip.

oh, i also forgot to mention--in the event you use a weapon that has more than 28 uses (Metal Blade, Quick Boomerang, etc.), you can switch to another weapon, then BACK to conserve energy--made 1 tank of Metal Blades not deplete through the entire fortress 1 single bar, same with Quick Boomerang

4 shots per bar for Metal Blade

2 for Bubble Lead

8 for Quick Boomerang

for stage 4, when using the Crash Bombs on the boss, I found a few special spots where the bombs can score hits on both bosses and walls, or multiple walls--i only used 4-5 bombs of my full tank using multiple hits, and on a second run i used the strategy and emptied extra bombs on the unnecessary walls

Eh, just a little tidbit, incase anyone didn't know. If you watch the ceiling and floor, you see a small flash where each drill will come out. Use it to your advantage.

i agree about him being weak to heatman 1 charged blast & woodman is done, no effort involved at all with that, the mega buster though, i think you went a bit overboard there the mega buster always hurts everyone but no ones ever really weak against it, it's kinda like a default weapon but yeah, 1 fully charged heatman blast & woodman is nothing but a pile of ashes lol if anyone else doesnt believe it, give it a try (note: the leaf shield blocks it you need to jump over the shield then shoot)
