@mak1203136 We did a UK tour supporting the Almighty in 1990 or '91 - it was a ball!We have tried to get back to the UK several times but they make it VERY difficult to get the permits, etc... I'd love to come back, and if the opportubity arrises you just never know...
I picked up on Junkyard after reading a Rip Magazine article on them, decided to give them a shot, sounded like my kind of band in the day. I ended up wearing out two copies of the debut album in my cassette player over the following year!!! Great music, Big Chris!!! Still a huge fan! Been looking to find the debut album and "6s, 7s and 9s" on CD.
You wanna know how good this song this is? I live in Boston, far away from the southern rock scene. And I've been listening to this album for 20 years.
95% of teens these days listen to the same formulaic, crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy and paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die
This really is an Album (both actually) that stands of the time marker, It is so simplistic in its sound and so complex in its creation. These boys got it right, and will live on in my daughter's ears....this is what I had during the Hairband years Honey.
sick!! in 1988 i rocked these guys on my walkman when i'd go skateboarding, now i rock them on my ipod when i skate. funny how times change, yet stay the same. awesome find on the you tube tonight. grew up in pennsylvania, and my older brother brought home their tape from texas. so stoked he did. exposed me to some good shit.
man, simpleman and hands off both rocked my world when i first heard them!!! even 21 years later, when i hear any of those songs off that "cassette"/CD,great memories come rushing through my mind...thanks for blessing those of us who know who JUNKYARD is with such talented music...i'll never understand y JUNKYARD never got the recognition like def-leppard and other bands of that era received!!! u guys got screwed by the industry,in my opinion-not enough air time

Fuckin love Junkyard. Those first two records are insanely good. I thought you guys were going to be HUGE but you didn't get the exposure and support you deserved. I still play your shit today. Wishing all you guys in the band the best.
Yeah, they hired the "power ballad guy" to direct it and gave us zero input.. The models wouldn't even talk to us... But the set from Gomer Pyle USMC and Spawn Ranch (Charles Manson's place) were just over the hill... so we had that going for us.

@jemorris1998 Me too man!! I remember having a Busch Light in one hand, joint in the other and listening to them, or just cruising with my buddies, Marlboro Red in the corner of my mouth, cassette player cranked, mullet flying in the wind..lol. Damn I miss the 80s.
@bigchrisgates when you guys first hit the scene we went everywhere in So Cal to watch you guys play. You really should have made it so much bigger. Still listen to you guys all the time. One of my alltime favorite Junkyard songs. KEEP ROCKIN!!!!
@bigchrisgates hey Chris, I loved junkyard, For an eighten year old in rural Australia in1989 to listen to such great music was a real privilege. Thanks Chris Junkyard really meant heaps to me.
@bigchrisgates Chris what was the name of that industrial band you played in Austin in about 94 or 95? I seen you guys play live in the back room at SXSW I can't remember exactly what year it was but it was around 95 maybe a little later than that. It was one of the best live shows I've ever seen! You are a musical genius. Your wife performed at the Blood Fest she is also a superstar!
@bigchrisgates wouldn't have mattered... you guys just kicked ass... even your "bad" songs were a thousand percent better than 3 rotations of "pour some sugar...", "the latest bon jovi", and "sell out gangsta of the week"....
THAT FUCKER CAN MAKE A GUITAR SCREAM, MAKES ME TINGLY ALL OVER.. I REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THE SONG AND TO HEAR IT TODAY TAKES ME BACK TWENTY YEARS, MAYBE 25,LOL OH WELL 41 IS NOT OLD!!! SKIPPING SCHOOL,DRIVING TO THE LAKE,DRINKING SOME BEER AND LEARNING ABOUT LIFE.
80's and 90's were the best time for music...everything done before was improved on and it seemed like the scene was moving forward....then 2000 comes and everything is pretty much done by phony no talents that look good and go into a studio with a good engineer and come out with a golden voice and sound. Then live everything is dubbed and lip synced.
God damn, I like to think that I'm the only one in The Netherlands who owns the 1st two albums and still plays them. Matter of fact I just got home tonight with this song playing over the car stereo loud as fuck...... If someone ever decides to compile the soundtrack of my life, make sure this song is on it.....
I saw these guys at Club Lingerie (dont know what its called now) and they licked ass! This is one of the BEST lesser known songs. After KNAC went off the air all this shit went away......til now!

Junkyard! What a great band,,, Sad they were a victim of the grunge revolution, but I have NEVER stopped listening to their music and if they toured I would be there...
Holy shit, I didn't think ANYONE had this anymore. One of my favorites from the late '80's, early '90's. These guys could tear up a bar like nobody ever seen. Got the debut album and "Sixes, Sevens and Nines", their second album, still listen to 'em this day. Thanks!
@IzzySmith1969 I was a huge fan.didnt know anyone who had heard of them! I was into new raw bands then, kinda like Dangerous Toys. Obscure but great. Peace!
These guys are my favorite unknown band of all time. I saw them in Long Island about 15 years ago. They didnt do this song which bummed me out. But they were great anyway!!!
Junkyard was one of the best fucking bands to EVER come out of the eighties. I RAMMED it down the fucking radio stations in the Atlanta area back then. I told them if you cant play Skynyrd or Junkyard they might as well TURN THE MOTHERFUCKER OFF!!!!
Hell Yeah!!!! OK.. the video is crap, but hey that's what Hollywood is good for... Take it from me... You guys made a fan of me and had your part in makin me the pain in the ass I am;)...

Thanks!
