Actually, the entire speech about people wearing costumes seems like it's really about all the 'Boggie Nights' characters themselves, especially Dirk.

IMO, the entire movie is really about Hollywood. Every aspect of the story/characters applies to "mainstream" H-wood. They're all full of crap. The only difference is that one group does so-called "porn."
