After I got over the idea that MK V was not MK II, I really enjoyed this lineup. Music is tight and JLT has a wonderful, soulful voice. It's not Gillan, but then why should it? JLT is a great musician.
I know many DP fans consider Joe Lynn "bad" just for not being Ian Gillan.. I'm rather young to be a devoted fan, so I can objectively say that both men were great and ARE great. And I really enjoy JLT's emotional performance of this song. Nowadays he does it in a bit different way, still good of course.. but this one with a guitar.. very touching. Thanks for the video

I'll be very blunt here. This song is a piece of shit. There is nothing good about it, and even though there are good power ballads, this is not one of them.
This is a very powerful and deeply emotional song. But why audience were dissatisfied with Joe Turner, because with him purple's music become slower and losing speed, rhythm(tempo).Audience likes SPEED,stupid speed which starts up them to move hands and jump, matter of fact not touching soul.Just surfactant songs,I HATE THEM!I like jumping and loosing energy on concerts, but with deepness of song as well.Quality song does both!Or just the first thing, brings emotion. This one does it.
You're right. I love this song 'cause it's so deep. Rock is not not only speed but also emotion. This is a great song, one of the best expressions about love ever.
OMNIA VINCIT AMOR. Made me think about getting a tattoo in latin!
This is correct. Glover was pretty easy going about it, but Lord and Paice wanted Gillan back. I agree, this stuff is not just the Deep Purple so many of us love.
@ianrwood21 Yes, Glover is a yes-man. He is just happy to record and especially play live. Roger and JLT became friends during the Rainbow-days, so I guess he remained pretty neutral about it. He has stated that bringing back Gillan was the right thing for the band, and indeed it was, even though if it ment Blackmore leaving, but Blackmore has said that the main reason for why he left was that he wanted to ressurect Rainbow, and he had thought about it for a few years at the time it happened.
@ianrwood21 There was even some talk that (after that 'Strangers In Us All' thing), classic Rainbow would get back together again, Blackmore, Dio, Powell as the core members. Ritchie wanted this after he left Purple, but Dio was not available, as he had just just released the first new DIO album with the new version of the band after he left Sabbath. Powell would only do it if Dio was in, so Ritchie put together a totally different lineup. Cozy's death in '98 put an end to it all unfortunatly.
I think almost every album has it's own charm, and a personal sound. This album is not bad at all. It's very heavy and Joe gave the music sucha bluesy sound together with ritchie. Simply awesome. He is wonderful Joe. Totaly. Love it
WOOOOOOOOOOHH! JOOOE!!! I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!! omgomgomgomg... :( This is bad love. Inlove with a rock"star". He's the only bandmember who had the great offer to play guitar WITH ritchie (the world´s greatest guitarplayer) on stage! He even gave him a silver stratocaster for that. Great people. Love them.
the fact that slaves and masters was not a sucsess don`t mean that is no good. people don`t think with their own mind and just repeat what they read in magazines... 60 years old people!
I can help U if you wish, what show would you like to speak about, I only have 434 bootlegs and I have listened to them all .. is this enough? An EXC band always creates EXC albums.. Open your mind a bit, S&Master may not be classic DP but it's EXC like CTTBand just to mention an example ...
I've 60 years old...I saw deep purple...in four time in the 70's, and couple concert in 80's...and now I'd a fanclub I'm the director...I've 1000cd of deep purple...clean your mounth...
Jesus! You are the director of a fan club? That's very important! Can you sign my vinyls besides Ritchie's/Ronnie's autographs? If you're 60 then enjoy your family, don't loose time in stupid matters. BTW I don't discuss with OLD people, we must respect OLD people so the discussion is finished now.
It was recorded in CZECHOSLOVAKIA not Checoslovaquia!!!!

If you are refusing to discuss the matter with Luiginoy..because he is "OLD"..as you put it..how is that respecting old people??
One day you will be 60..and you won't like to be treated this way.
And remember..Ritchie Blackmore is now 63 years old..would you refuse to discuss music with him?
I think not.
