Cyndi, my love. Encaustic is actually beeswax that is a very old process in the art world. I had wanted to try it out for years, but hadn't done it until I saw Suziblutube using it here on YT.  Next thing I knew, I had beeswaxed my house! LOL I have been using it on everything in recent months...

Buy it at Michael's, pop it into a Crock Pot, and brush it on once it has melted. Easy peesy! YAY!

When we use a panel of judges on these contests....yes, it is extremely difficult to pick a winner. Especially when you have 350-400 videos to choose from, which has happened before.

The last couple contests were decided by viewer voting. Then I only have to count the votes. And we had over 6,500 votes in contest #8...LOL

It is funny you mention that, she actually caught the essence of every dog! Ruger is a total goof. If you go to my channel I have SOMEWHERE a "ruger and the killer bucket" video. Yes, he is a goof. And Bo, in that pose to the left, PERFECT, Loretta, the leader and front, and Tuff to the right of her just looking sweet, and middle child-ish. Deb is VERY talented to capture them to perfection. :) She did an AWESOME JOB.

Beautiful, I love it!!! You have nailed the markings on the dogs, that must have taken a mighty effort, but all the dogs are easily recognized. And the amount of fish is just fine, considering I have about 200 of them at times with babies. When I look at the painting I feel happy, relaxed, content, and you've captured the essence of the dogs so well I could just kiss the painting, they all look so cute :) Like they are there!

I really like the white outlines against the deep color. Are you using some sort of masking product or drawn concentric outlines to separate the areas of color?

MK, I drew the lines in afterwards using an opaque white ink. It has a Batik effect. I'm very fond of black ink lines in paintings, too....more of the style of Illustration.

It starts to get too complicated when I put too many restrictions on the contests. Not everyone has editing software or the ability to use it. I struggle with that one myself...learning to use iMovie. Argh!
