I cook pasta allot, I am not a chef and no where near the experience of gordon. But I can say that putting oil in the boiling water is rubbish. Whats more extraordinary is once you drain your pasta in your coriander, get a spoonful of your oil and gently mix the oil on the pasta. This will create loose pasta that wont stick TO EACH OTHER.
If you don't have a very powerful stove and you don't wanna wait fucking forever for the water to boil, add the salt AFTER it boils, then cover the pot and wait for it to boil again. Salt raises the boiling point of water.
