Note the pink square on the bottom of the heatsink. That's thermal interface material. If that square of TIM wasn't there, then yes, I would use "paste".
I'm using a socket A too. Even after removing the dust from the HSF it still tends to touch 70C in the Indian summers and I'm hoping some new heatsink paste helps. Thank you for sharing the video, its a great guide for people like me!

dude i have a socket a sempron 3300+ and i can play bf2 and all hl2 games all the way up with no lag. socket a is an ageing beauty.

I have the socket A Sempron 3300+ also. It's actualy a Barton 3200+ that AMD renamed.

yeah it is, my computer sees it as a amd athlon xp 3200+ lol but they are the exact same cpu anyways, and very overclockable.

Actually I do use A Socket computers for trainers, and I burned up a CPU by installing backwards
