When you fly via VFR rules (Visual Flight Rules), you DON'T use instruments dor navigation, but your eyes. And without an IFR licence, you can not ask the controler for ILS approach.
In the air with VFR flight (as seen on this movie) you land VISUALY and NOT with the INSTRUMENTS!
