  • you say in video 25 miles range cut that down to 9 if u have to drive at night using head light also dnt drive ur 40 mile per hour bike on interstate coz im not slowing down for ur green bike . not hating you or ur bike just telling the truth . but still nice video bro.

  • @saint27573

headlights are always on day or night. And these are actually highly modifiable. You can change how fast they go and how fast they accelerate. Electric motors are WAAAY more efficient and powerful than combustion engines. They only problem is theres not a cheap way to store the power. If i ever make one of these i'm gonna put little solar panels on top of the gas tank. Sure they wouldn't be enough to charge the batteries but sense your out in the sun anyways ya might as well!

  • 60 Mph top speed. No thanks, ill stick with engines.

  • is THAT your driveway?

  • thats cool!!

    top speed?

  • Nice Bike, I have a Kawasaki ZZR1400 and going AC system, looking at 100Mph top speed and 60Mile range. Using the LEV Batteries from a Mitsubishi i-EV

  • how much u think u would have to spend to convert>i have a 97 ninja 250 with no engine

  • I am in Japan so I need to order in most of the stuff and then I am slapped with taxes on it, the only thing I do not need to order is the Li-ion as I am using the LEV50. So The cost is a lot higher then others in the USA/Canada.

I am ordering parts from Electric Motor Sport in the USA.

  • i take it the petrol tanks there for show!

  • Very nice.. How long does the battery last for before needing a recharge? Would be keen to do it to mine too but i gotta travel 30 minutes to uni, and 30 minutes home, and at uni no where to charge up, so battery would need to last atleast an hour. :(

  • On the video he says about 25-30miles on a charge. It all depends how many hills and stop/start traffic and how you ride it though.

  • Thanks for the quiet ride. I even cracked a beer when you were talking to your friends. I made an small electric chopper does about 35, but I would like to make a full size motorcycle with Li batteries. Nice job.

  • You hear so many noises when its electric ;)

  • how much those batteries set you back?

  • Very nice job, enjoy the ride.

  • Very nice build, man. The windshield really keeps down the wind noise too! Well thought out build!!

  • what's the top speed of this bike? i think it's very cool and good for the climate to use such bikes!!

  • nice job man,

Been thinking about doing the same.

  • Sweet, Now all you need is to stick that camcorder to the tank and hit those bends faster! Who will be the first to knee slide an EVMOTORCYCLE??? :) Great Stuff!!!

  • *NICE* - how come you're not on ninja250-org? :) - Whose windshield is that? - Why regen braking only on clutch? You could use the brake light to toggle it - Why put the chain on the right-hand side? Engine restriction?

If I had the cash I'd totally do the same thing. That's awesome. But $1800 worth of batteries is too rich for me.

    Wes

  • I made the windshield myself out of lexan. The previous owner broke the original off. The regen is variable on the clutch. There is a switch already on the clutch that I use to turn the brake light on. Yes, the motor prefers to turn clockwise.

  • Ohhh yeahhh the BEST BIKE I HAVE SEEN, can you make motorized handycap chairs too ?.

  • Love it, you got LiPO4?

  • Yes, they are LifePO4's.

  • beautiful toy, but... why you do that ? its useless.

  • Do you think we can get a law passed that will only allow intelligent people to use the internet?

  • lol he must not be from around here. mad props on the bike man but would be nice to get a freeway speed of 70.

  • @squidless250 I think I'll have to agree with that. But its usefull electric motors have full torc at 0 rpms so thats pretty usefull.

  • Wow, that's impressive! I like when your neighbor asks if you can do that to her car. I can't believe how quiet it is.

    Quite an accomplishment. Nice job!

  • dude, evalbum that thing, what are the specs?

  • Very nize. :P

  • how fast will it go?

  • I had it geared up to do 60 mph, but I've geared it down to about 48 mph top speed. I'll probably bump it back up to around 55.

  • Nice rig you made! What's the amphours work out to on those headways? thanks

  • I have 80 cells, 4 in parallel, 20 in series. It's 64 volts at 40 amp hours.

  • put it on evalbum

  • Awesome! Great job, bro!
