  • Are you kidding me? You actually think that EVERY hair product should work on your hair and if it doesn't it's a bad product? Shame on you. You are thinking that because Mary J Blige and Jada Pinkett use it it should work for you. Not so. Guaranteed you will waste money on hair care products and make up so please don't get on your soap box and bash products that aren't for you. Its just that simple--it's not for you so try something else and hopefully you will be satisfied, but don't bash.

  • I'm still trying to find the right conditioner for my hair. I have an Afro i've tried so many things so appreciate your honesty.

  • I've tried their hair products and I hated them as well. The Hair Milk didn't work at all. The only products that I found that really works on my hair is Mixed Chicks Line (shampoo, leave in conditioner, deep conditioner and hair gloss (I know that's not the name of it, but it keeps my hair from frizzing) and I also use the Miss Jessie's products as well.

I found Carol's Daughter Hair Milk to be very oily and did not define my curls.

  • I also agree! I purchased the entire hair milk line and the TUI leave in conditioner and it was just awful. I did keep the hairmilk, but I am starting to regret it now. I generally use it with Shea butter oil, and it defines it very well with that…lately it has started flaking though :(… Check out my comparison of Ms. Jessie's shampoo and conditioner with Carol's Daughter under my channel..

  • I agree I had some samples of this and it made my hair feel like hay and it is not that my hair is unhealthy it's well taken care of. Most of the products from carol's daughter were dissappointing :-(

  • I agree with you...I just wasted my money..this product did not agree with my hair..it made my hair dry/brittle and the shrinkage was unbelievable.....

  • It is NOT just your hair type. I have a daughter is who is half puerto rican with I'd say type 3a hair and that hair milk made my baby's hair look like trash. The ends were so straggly and it sucked ALL the moisture out. I am very disappointed in that product. I've heard good things about some of their other stuff but frankly I'm scared to try it because of what this one did and because I can't afford to keep wasting $20. smh

  • I am sorry that you had a bad experience w/ CD. I am a man who is coming off a year transitioning from permed back to natural hair. I did not do the 'Big Chop' I clippped little by little and kept it braided. I like so many heard about CD and was excited til' I saw the price. Still, to support black biz and a 'natural' product I bought the Black Van. Set and didn't really any results until about six months of consistency. Once my natural hair pattern begin to restore itself I purchased the new

  • Rosemary Mint Detox Shampoo Duo and was a bit dissatisfied with the results until more and more of my natural hair grew back and the texture was soft and kinky but curly enough that your hands won't get tangled. I will agree when my hair was permed the Hair Milk did nothing. Now, that I'm fully natural and I'm using the Hair Milk it is already doing good things. HM is for Curly Hair... I can't tell from this video but do you think you hair texture is type this product was made for???

  • I agree I just did a review on it and well at least you didn't wast 100 dollars on the Hair Milk Products which didn't work. I agree it completely dried my daughters hair out. I wouldn't recommend Carol's daughter. Oh and the products have a lot of chemicals in it

  • Im happy u made this review b/c im type 4 too but i think it didnt work b/c of your hair type but idk..

  • Its so sad when this happens. I tried Jane Carters leave in Conditioner and it did the same thing. I had my own mixtures and they worked beautifully, but as soon as i added it to the mix....mashed it up. i wish there were some money back within 30 days.... feel your pain sis.

  • I just bought this product and I have that is mixed native and black more black, but very pretty curls, when I used this product it dried my hair to the point that I didnt recognize it at all. My hair shrunk and was dry, brittle, just nasty. It was horrible. I ordered this because I heard great things about Carols Daughter and then i saw the product on HSN, so I bought it. Biggest mistake I have made in along time when it comes to my hair.

  • did a good review

  • I agree with you. I think they need to tell what type hair it don't agree with!! I'm 4a type it don't work on mine and yes it does dry it out. I mean different hair types. Thats Macys, they will take it back if you tell them it didn't work and you want a refund.

  • I was soo happy i purchased the mini bottles of the curl booster milk and the curl defining milk. I love the smell of the booster but the result of the definer was better. They worked for me minus moisture. I used it as a finishing tool after my wash and leave in conditioner with my carrot oil or jojoba oil. Sorry girl..they are expensive!

  • I LOVED the hair milk when I had my fro. I would just wash & condition my hair and then just braid it up to dry. It would help with to soften and add a little shine to my hair.

  • I definitely feel your pain! it DID NOT work for me either neither did her shampoo i was PISSED! way too expensive !! the shampoo made it feel like it was FILLED with alochol or something ewe

  • Sorry to hear it didn't work for you. It is my staple product! I will not live without it. Everyone is different I guess. I have natural 3c/4a hair. If you can, get your products from Sephora, that way you won't be stuck with it, you can return it to them.

  • yep it must be your hair, because the hair milk does soften the hair and it does define your natural curls and waves. coming out of braids you should have treated your hair and scalp with the shampoo and smoothie conditioner before using the hair milk, plus you can use the milk as a blowing lotion. you have to ask questions before buying.

  • @lokizi Well, in the video I did mention that I used the product several times in several different ways, yet something IN THE PRODUCT does not agree with my hair. My hair is fine, very healthy actually. I did not need to ask questions about the product when Lisa herself came to my city and gave thorough explanation of all of her products prior to my purchase (that was half the reason I bought it outside of rave reviews). Different strokes for different folks. My HAIR hates the PRODUCT.

  • Hair milk does nothing for my hair. The hair milk just sat on top of my hair and maked it limp without any definition. I have tried many products from the Carol's Daughter line and nothing seemed to work. Highly disappointed.

  • The only thing I like about the Hair Milk is the smell. It does nothin fa me. LOL

  • it did not work on my hair either

  • it did not work on my hair either

  • WOW, you're so right. I've only been using this product for two days and I'm already thinking that buying it was a bad idea. I also bought some Tui leave in conditioner, smells great but leaves my hair dry. I am sad, and still in the process of looking for that perfect product. I just did my BC July 26th.

  • @CallmeSAS Try kimmaytube's YouTube channel and her leave in conditioner mix

  • Hated the entire line. Decided to sell the rest of the stuff off instead. Then no one wanted to buy it. Ha ha. I am a 3B and NO, it doesn't work for us either.

  • Comment removed

  • wow...im sorry that happened to you...maybe you got a bad batch from macys....I usually get mine from HSN..try it from there, they have money back guarente...

  • I was able to get a sample and it didn't moisterize my hair at all, it just made it greesy...and that smell...omg, it was all I could smell the whole day over my body spray, perfume and lotion. Needless to say I did not go back and purchase it.

  • that's so weird.. i swear by the hair milk.. but i guess it depends on the hair.. it really defines my curls and i only have to reapply probably every 3 days.

  • I have 4A/4B hair as well. The Hair Milk dried my hair out as well. I was just about to give the product away. One day I was in Harlem and I stopped by the Carol's Daughter store and I mentioned that the product does not work on my hair. The sales person explained that for some people, you will need to mix the Hair Milk with the Hair Balm or the Mimosa Honey. Once I began mixing the two, it did what it was suppose to do. Hope this helps.

  • It dried my hair out also. I have thick 4-type (not sure if its b or c yet) and it made my hair look awful. I had to re wash and use something else. I ended up giving my bottle away to a women who uses it on her little boy's hair. I do like her black vanilla shampoo and smoothie.

  • You are right that doesnt work for my 4b hair either i am now going to try missJessies hair product because i saw the wbsite and I was impressed

  • @Dafabulousm0niqu3 Caution: Before you spend mega $ on miss jessies, check the ingredient list and compare it to other products with similar ingredients--you may find that your $ is paying for their impressive marketing and advertising vs the product itself! I find it a bit overpriced.

  • thanks for doing this review cus i just added it to my shopping cart and was like hmph! lemme check it out 1st ur the 3rd negative review i seen thus far

  • @Daintyliscious Lol! I find myself doing the exact the same thing before I buy just about ANYthing now! Wasting money is my biggest pet peeve. Glad I could be of assistance!

  • We had the same experience. I was so excited to try Carols Daughter, that I bought a whole set including shampoo in conditioner. After I used it the first time, I was like okay maybe my hair needs to get used to it. The second and third went by and still no change. It took the moisture and body away from my hair. That was $60 down the drain, I was so upset. I just started using Koils By Nature and I love it.

  • @BlezzedChild07 60 bucks! Ouch. I was tripping off my $18! Don't cha just feel bamboozled! Gosh, where's the money back guarantee right? And Koils by Nature....might hafta check that out myself.

  • I know what you mean. I have 3 type curls and it Dries my hair out too, at least that's how it feels. I thought of giving it one more try just by itself but i'm not sure. My hair strands are thin (i just have ALOT of them) so they are already more at risk of breaking, and i can't afford to use something that sucks moisture out! Well just wanted you to know that you weren't alone on the hair milk dilemma. I might give it up entirely now and look for better/cheaper options, lol!

  • Just wondering if you dont want it i will be happy to take to use it.

  • Thanks so much for your honesty on the hair milk. I've seen many other reviews for the milk and it seems as though the tighter the curl, the less effective the milk is. Thanks again for being so thorough in your review!

  • MY HAIR HATED IT! I feel you Girl. Love how you tied your scarf!

  • im a 3b-3c & my hair HATES it also!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much being natural has been really tough for me without having any help from another natural person

  • @mekathequeen You are welcome and thank YOU! One thing I've learned since becoming natural is that the natural community is sooo welcoming and supportive. The bond that's shared is amazing and it feels good to be able to share such a connection with others for something so positive! So if you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! :-)

  • Carol's Daughter hair milk didn't work for me either. I have type 4 hair. Luckily I got the smaller bottle so it didn't cost THAT much. I had such high hopes for this product.

  • it dried my hair out too!!! i have the same hair type as you! im happy i did not buy it, my friend had some that i tried first

  • question: how do you find your hair type.. i've tried comparing it to other peoples but its just not working

  • @mekathequeen google hair typing and they have pictures of the different hair types. find the one that fit the characteristic of your hair and which looks most like your curl pattern.

  • @mekathequeen Hey, I've posted the link of an article that breaks the hair textures down in your channel comments.

  • Your hair looks gorgious!!!

  • I have never used any of Carol's daughter products because of the price. I don't think I ever will.

  • I completely agree. I was in a transitioning phase and had heard so many good things about Carol's daughter that I was like I need to try this. I spent about 80 something dollars on shampoo, condition, leave in condition, mimosa hair honey, and the hair milk. The only thing that is even remotely ok is the mimosa hair honey. I wish I could get my money back and spend it on something else that is worth it. I was so upset. We share the same sentiment.

  • it did the same thing for me i added my shea butter to it and didnt work so i wont b getting that again i tried it 4 times to give it a chance same result

  • Honey u are beautiful!! lol

  • @JLovely4298 Thanx hunn! Stay tuned, I'll be posting more vids soon!

  • that was funny. i don't know why friend. but i laughed. i am done with buying new products. i am going to use what i have and go from there. no more product junkie. i am going to do my best to manage what i have. keep up the good work.
