You would think CNN could get a better translator, or at least a transcript of the Homily which was made available by the Vatican to the media and can be found here: zenit.org/article-12695?l=english
@winfreyd I was wondering in the same track. Can not this homily be sent in advance to various television stations, so that the English translation is faithful to the Italian, but at the same time not losing the coherence of the message. Oh well, I guess there is no enough time for that, given the pressures Ratzinger had during that time as the Dean of the College. But yeah, I would also want a better translator.
@studentquestor but that would have spoiled everything. but i agree, they should have gotten a better translator. or maybe Cardinal Ratzinger should have spoken in English instead.
those words made me cry buckets. also loved the homily for Pope John Paul II's beatification.
