  • anyone know where I can download the mP3? Or if you have it, maybe you can email it to me? I tried buying it on iTunes but it was not available. I'm also trying to get my hands on "5-9-78"...

  • @JackMonroe Youtube converter

  • Helen Stewart was truly gorgeous at this time.

Most woman today can only dream of matching her beauty, whilst oozing class but most most importantly remaining unpretentious.

I guess this was before the pseudo-glamour culture turned pretty women into monsters (all hail Katy Price).

Great music, great video. 10 stars.

  • @bertyUK Yes. And everything's getting worse and worse over the years, I'm starting to see that as well now that I've just turned 23.. it's starting to be quite obvious..

  • Looked like our Jackie was enjoying himself until there was stew advertised at 1:50, i'll have some of that!

  • I liked it when the catering lady in the fur coat held up the board to tell him what was for dinner. They thought of everything in those days!

  • @UncleSqualid

Catering Lady? That's Helen Stewart, his wife, you utter philistine!

Hahaha! Get back on the blunder-bus.

  • @bertyUK FFS Berty. I deliberately misunderstood the pit board for the purposes of a joke. I then further exaggerated the misunderstanding by giving the impression that I think that as F1 is such a glamourous sport, even the catering staff are fur clad beauties.

I'm fully aware that Jackie in all likelihood, did not have stew for lunch that day. Although I'm sure he and Helen would appreciate you getting upset on their behalf.

  • This track is boss.

  • B♥ards ♥f Canada ♥♥♥

  • the woman in the fur coat, i want her to suck me like a lollipop

  • smoked my first blunt ever last night to this

  • @jdoggybizzle lol, welcome to the big time :)

  • Something about that driver's face makes me want to punch it.

  • @FatherHeathen I take it you're not a Jackie Stewart fan then.

  • Ok so I've been a BoC fan for like 7 years and oh here is YET ANOTHER awesome track I didn't know existed. It's like a damn easter egg hunt. Anyone know what album this one can be found on?

  • @mickblock "A Few Old Tunes", it's written in the video description :P

  • at 0:40 starts the high pitched synth from the track Twoism :)

  • @eyegore21 also, the drums are the same, just a bit faster tempo

  • @eyegore21 ooohh you're sharp. Good Spot!

  • u have a hot wheels of this car:0 couldnt belive my eyes when i saw it at the grocery store..i had the same car in 81 and this kid tommy stole it...I couldnt prove this but it was there..he comes over...and its gone sorta thing..! so as an adult i enjoy f1 grand turismo 5 and codemasters f12010..but in all my years loving sports and games..no one has renderd this car...i know forza and grain turismo havent..anyway that would be the closest most of us to get to one anyway:)

  • thought i was watching the beginning of a porno to start with there..

  • That car is so awesome.

  • BoC fan vids are always so cool :D Great job, and yet another great track from BoC.

  • Who was that gorgeous dame?

  • @BR4NDON Jackie Stewarts wife

  • i love 70s Babes, oh the TY is nice too ;)

  • great music video and i think the driveer looked a little 'cocky' in that scene 0:14 - 0:25 hahahaha

  • @ichibanhahn I think he looked like Vladimir Putin.

  • I hate picking favourites. Don't like to pick favourite tunes, favourite albums, favourite films, favourite TV shows. Hate putting things I love above other things I love. Having said all that: BoC are my favourite musicians.

  • Helen's calling him into pits!!! lol

However, so nice of her to want husband safe at home and no longer risking his life on tracks, it prolly means she really loves him.

    Great vid!!!!!!!!!

  • cool video clip of the 6-wheeler... and the soundtrack is great... thanks for this video... :-)

  • BoC.... enough said

  • yeah the part at around 0:39 when he downshifts and the beat comes in is so gnar. its like symbolic for Jackie putting the song into high gear of epicness... yeah. BoC is too good

  • I totally recognize those drums from another track, and that high pitched background-thing.

  • Comment removed

  • excelent

  • Haha, I really laughed at 'omg a bike'

  • This is perfect! Absolutely fantastic, I can't thank you enough man. I've watched it about 200 times already :)

The music and the film just mesh so perfectly, it's divine.

  • "OMG, a bike!". Most awesome ironic context ever.

  • Badass video and music

  • such longing... such beauty. epic. probably one of their best in my opinion.

  • And Nigel Mansell, wolfs down his stew, beating Ayrton to the cockpit. Wow, that was impressive,

  • Wouldn't 6 wheels be more stable on a racing car? If so why would the ban them?

  • @SnIkLeeT

The design was abandoned after Goodyear refused to develop the small tyres needed for the car as they were too busy fighting the other tyre manufacturers in Formula One during the 70's

  • pussy i wanna fuck her

  • For a short-lived car, they sure did get a lot of great on-board footage with it.

  • Wish I was alive back then.

  • so awesome FIA banned anything with more than 4 wheels.

  • 1:23 WOWOWOWOW

  • @sm0jphace what happened?

  • Yet another fantastic, highly atmospheric track by BoC.

  • My other favourite other than Finity :P

  • i love boards of canada but dont fit to this video absolutelly *

  • I think it fits it perfectly.

  • agreed. the grainy first image of the woman in her has an oddly beautiful synergy with the audio.

  • i meant: "the woman in fur"

  • @venusinfers1 I love audio-visual connections like that.

  • how does it handle

  • I think it handled pretty good, i mean by all rights it should. But, changing tires is slower, more wieght, more tires, etc. Probably why it didn't last, long. And i'm not sure, but i'm betting they banned the use of "experimental" designs, hence why they are all the same platform nowadays.

  • There were a number of 6 wheel cars being worked on, including two rear axles, and two wheels on one axle. FIA killed it the same way they killed the fan car and the wing cars.

There's no point in developing a car that can't race.

  • I wonder if that ever did an 8 wheel design...2 axles on both ends, but damn that'd start to get heavy. 2 wheels on one axle actaully dates back to the 30's with the auto union hill climb race cars.

Those fan cars were actaully a genious idea, don't know much about how they performed, obviously must have done fairly decent. I would think the suction would slow the car down. Wing cars were cool as well. It is too bad we'll probably never see those radical designs anymore.

  • The fan cars won their only race outing, at the Swedish GP in 1978. The fans didn't help straight line speed, but when going around corners and bends where other cars needed to brake and even downshift, the fan cars could take those corners and bends at full throttle.

A glorious time for car development. 6 wheelers, fan cars, ground effects, bring those days back.

  • to BeretCyclist - I recall an engineer interwieved talking about loads of probs

with the rear wheels of the front train due to overheating. They needed an extremely focused job by the tyres 'supplier....not

    worth the effort.

  • That would make perfect sense considering the rear wheels of the front train would be of course trailing but also have to deal with side to side movement (sliding-friction) Not to mention the fact that to have the front end handle at all different speeds and loads and have optimal performance is a lot to ask.

  • to BeretCyclist - HI ! yes, of course engineering was already so developed

to be able to sove most of these probs.

I guess they also realized that anyhow the benefit was not as wide as they thought it could have been.

If memory serves,March team tested a twin back train ( 4 rear wheels) : shortly

tested and quickly abandoned since it also had an exceeding weight in addition to a good amount of tech.probs .

Pure creative engineering still had room enough back then !

  • damn you BoC, i dont want to have to resort to illegally downloading ur music but you leave me no choice, i cant find your old stuff ANYWHERE! and its supurb. please release a back catalouge or something.

    peace

  • amazon!

    peace too

  • @mambo7891 chances are they aren't bothered.

  • filtered incandescent glaze. beautiful.

  • Great video and great song.

  • which album is his from

  • A Few Old Tunes Vol. 1 - Cassette

  • very unique sounds!

  • Yeah, I really like this song and "We've Started Up". If any songs by BoC reflect a 1980's vibe, those are definitely the most fitting. Also Olson Version 3 and Original Nlogax!

Awesome video. Fits really well :D

  • 0:39 the way the reflected light moves on the car, with the music it's so beautiful

  • I've just realised too, part of the back track sounds like one of their later tunes. It's very quiet but it is there.

  • yep, I hear Twoism motif in it

  • This is another BoC tune I haven't heard before, again not as chilled as their current stuff, but this is a really nice one.

  • Boards Of Canada + F1 vintage vids = awsome video :)

  • awesome

  • Great Song.

  • Tartan Head Band

  • yeah

  • I just noticed the gear shift syncopated with the synthesizer at 0:38. What a great lead to the shot at 0:39 in combination to the music. That's an excellent bit of editing.

  • they have surpassed the daft punk

  • yeah, best... but so short!

  • Best melodies i have ever heard in electronic music and the beatz are not to bad.

  • the music really matches the driving scenes, it's really great, and now i think of Jackie Stewart every time i hear this song, now

  • it fits together too well.

  • such a good sound but it`s not the tipical bof sound. very interresting!!!

  • such a tune

  • one of the best BoC tracks

  • Great clip, I really dont get tired watching this testing of P34 of jackie stewart. Thanks for posting!
