  • The maximum force cyclone occured over 0:16 / 0:17 minutes (16 Jan.95).

  • 15 Jan.95 - "The German weather ship Meteor passed through that part of the storm and reported sustained winds of 84.5 mph - 136 km/h at 06:00 UTC, with a minimum pressure of 975 hpa in an hour earlier (along with 83 mph winds-133 km/h). The Meteor had been launching rawinsonde balloons, but it was unable to launch one during the closest approach due to very strong winds"..

  • But The ship Meteor through that part of the storm on morning day 15.. the storm increased in the afternoon 15 and 16 day and probably the wind exceted the 135/140 km/h. The definite presure unknown.

  • @DanieleRm23 do you have a source for the info on the pressure and wind speeds?

  • Were the winds that were recorded sustained at 136km/h or was that in gusts? Fascinating storm.
