@gietek Ok! I thought it was mentioned on an ELP documentary. It briefly covered the "musical beginings" of each member. I think it mentioned that Lake started with the Faces.
@noodlesmealey Haha. Its fun some times when people are to dum to see or hear something that is new or just difrent, so thay just shut their eyes and hold their ears and scream stuff like "uh uh hippies! uh paganism!" like some kind of low inteligent rain man. Thank you, you made my daye =)
Can someone please be kind and tell me why Rebecca Black's "Friday" is in the related videos bar? That's seriously the worst insult i've ever seen in my thirty-two year old life.
The mask of the red death - Art performs and sounds a bit like Ian Anderson of Jethro Toll with a little bit of Hendrix and falsetto from Mic Jagger. And the band sounds like the Spencer Davis band gone a little mad.
What a great video!! And you have to dig the drummer smoking a ciggie...This looks like an awesome film.. J Gliddon you have raised the bar for the STAN action!!
@ThePsychopatrick He actually did burn his scalp several times with a previously improvised version of the helmet and he did mention that the screw dug into his scalp.
They were an amazing team Arthur Brown and Vincent Crane. Just listen to the haunting opening chords Crane is playing to prepare us for the master Mr Brown. Loved it then ,love it now.
@OPENSOREUK It's too bad that Vincent's depression got the best of him. Had it not been for depression, I imagine he would been a bigger star then he was. Because of how fast and skillful he was with the organ, I have considered Vincent Crane the unsung Godfather of Speed Metal.
I love the dude that walks through the scene at 1:34...he looks shell-shocked...like he was going to a bible-study group and walked into the wrong room by mistake!
Excellent performance and after more than 40 (!) years a girlish look (1:18) that is even hotter than Arthur Brown's hat and would make Antarctica melt. Oh, wait...
Great clip, and very interesting. Arthur Brown truly made an effort to put the spectacle into his performance. In Richie Unterberger's book "Urban Spacemen and Wayfaring Strangers" Brown explains how he would wear many layers of costumes on top of each other, so he could gradually change appearance as the show progressed. With each song there would be a new mood, lights, costume, and Brown would change his character and movements. Must have been an experience seeing those shows!
This guy is an amazing talent. His latest CD "the amazing world of arthur brown" is too good for words - just buy it and you'll see. Arthur is a true true great
Ted Nugent would shoot specialized arrows at Arthur only to have them deftly dodged by the crazy world himself who would them consume them both in hellfire.
