  • MERCi BOB !!!!

  • glad Paul Young got the gig instead of Bowie.

  • 5 people who disliked this video will never get their Christmas presents from Santa. :)

    LONG LIVE 80s MUSIC!

  • THIS IS AMAZING!!

NEVER SEE THIS KIND OF PERFORMANCE NOWADAYS!

  • FUCK THE 90'S AND THE 00'S!!! 80'S RULES FOREVER!!! THE BEST DECADE!! WHEN WOULD PUT TOGETHER SO MANY STARS WITH THE SAME KILATE ON THE SAME STAGE?

  • jy,bent,irak,jy,begint,altyd,een,war

  • don,t,sell,your,complaining,with,me,i,don,t,know,who,you,are,no,more,i,said,,before,thanx,but,i,won,t,let,you,hit,me,over,again,it,s,going,well,only,if,i,m,on,pc,i,have,hold,a,life,for,if,you,never,come,

  • should have been freddie instead of the jumping girl in black.

  • Seeing Bono and Freddie on the same stage is f'ing amazing. Too bad Freddie didn't solo. I'm sure he was happy to pass the mic...he was always a class act.

  • marry xmas to everyone..nikos greece

  • ..David's going to start this.. can't seem to recognize name, face, voice..

  • Can't recognized "david"? (Bowie), or the speaker? (Bob Geldoff)

  • @msgyand ..I think those not born at the time of this concert should get a pass. I'm kind of jealous of those who are watching this for the first time. Makes me remember how I felt watching it all on that day.

  • Shame. Where's Freddie's voice?

  • Geldof's such a self-aggrandising one-hit wonder. Made a good career out of poverty though.

  • @swerdna1970 Self-aggrandising??? He raised about $283.6 million from the Live Aid concert. Not to mention untold amounts still from the sale of this song. What have YOU done for the poor?

  • @Duma39 ..lol...that was nice. I'm not shocked @swerdna1970 not answering back.

  • @Lennon4life1968 Thank you. I just can't stand useless tools that sit around and do nothing and then criticize others for doing SOMETHING. arghh.

  • 23 years after.....

  • paul mccartney, freddie mercury, and sir elton john on stage and none of them gets to sing into the microphone?

  • @neaglejr shows how great music icons are there for the music and not to have huge egos

  • Who was the black girl who orgasmed into the microphone? wtf was that?

  • @Benttowardjustice - I think she was one of David Bowie's backup singers.

  • 2:56 you can hear a little little bit Freddie's voice if you pay attention...

He sould have taken that mic and rocked the world!

  • Come on Bob, u irish legend.. It's been called christmas for hundreds of years not "the holidays". Get it right, go back to work for the 25th of Dec if you think its just a random holiday. Its actually the birth of christ..!!

  • Bob Geldof (frontman of Irish punk band Boomtown Rats) and Midge Ure (frontman of Ultravox) organized this mega event back then. On that same day (13 July 1985), there were two stages: one in London and one in Philadelphia, on which many significant bands and artists at the time performed parallel. There was live broadcasting from both stages on a worldwide scale. The single raised up to 9 million British Pounds and the events 74 million, all destined to enable survival in Ethiopia etc.

  • Imagine how much that stage was rockin.... wow.

  • Is that Bowie to start the song??

  • @iluv777kstewart yup thats Bowie :-)

  • @iluv777kstewart Yes. He was supposed to start on the actual recording as well but couldn't make it, so his lines were given to Paul Young.

  • Amazing !

  • Me hubiese encantado un poquito de la voz de Freddie Mercury.

  • XMAS IS ALL ABOUT LOVE, PEACE AND RESPECT. IF YOU'RE MISSING ONE OF THESE WORDS,WE ARE NOTHING... MY HEART GOES TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN NEED. YOU ARE ALWAYS IN MY PRAYERS ,,,EVERYDAY...PEACE MY BELOVED EARTH.

  • why didn't Freddie get the freaking mic?

  • @funkblue2 Better question: why didnt MCCARTNEY get a freakin mic? He`s the reason half those performers were there, if not all.

  • @estyle40 Because Freddie is a much better singer ..

  • @funkblue2 the entire time i was thinking that!

  • @funkblue2 He would've stole the fucking show. Why else?

  • fantastico.

  • In 1985 I was in High School, wow this is awesome. God bless the USA, may we forever be that great beacon of hope and love for all of the World.

  • @johnluke1169 Not sure what the USA has to do with this. Live Aid was put together by an Irishman, and most of the people on that stage are from the British Isles. There were American participants, but Live Aid was the brainchild of Bob Geldof.

  • @johnluke1169

Americans had damn all to do with this barr a few participants. + Half the world think your corrupt country with the devils running it are the anti-christ. You feel a right to oil all over the world and force a dictated peace on people. In short: America is an opressing state on all others barr Russia and China.

  • @johnluke1169 USA? This was British thing...

  • most of the money that was raised actually went towards buying weapons... how ironic was that.....

  • The greatest artists in rock / pop history on one stage :) Minus some of course ... Elton, McCartney etc.

  • BLOODY GOOSEBUMPS! I REMEMBER VERY LITTLE OF THE 80'S BUT LIVE AID

IS BURNED IN MY MEMORY!!!! THE BEST!! B.T.W. QUEEN BLEW IT AWAY-LONG LIVE THE BEST FRONT MAN EVER: FREDDIE!!!!!!! BEST VOCALS ON BAND AID RECORDING: BOY GEORGE AND PAUL YOUNG!!!!

  • @divadina2069 - for me the best vocal performance on the Band Aid record was from BONO, i still get goosebumps when he delivers his line.

  • @dragondave004tv Freddie Mercury was best by far.

  • @ozeeSF - unfortunetely they did'nt give the mic to Freddie and he did'nt sing on the record otherwise he would've outshined everyone.

  • wonderful, christmas song in July ... love this song

  • ho voglia di piangere(i wont to cry)fantastici anni fantastica musica(age fantastic...music fantastic)

  • Those were the times. Now everything is shit. Talking about the music.

  • Things I wish I'd have been around for :(

  • Missed Boy George in this - his voice, presence is so amazing!

  • @missgenmaitea i agree

  • Paul McCartney, Freddy and Elton ..I wanted to hear of you.

  • el mejor es freddie mercury men debio cantar todo el tema

  • Amazing..Freddie Mercury, Paul McCarthey, Sting, Bono, David Bowie on the same stage...shame Sting mic didn´t work and Freddie didn´t sing but still Great...and the cause of course.

  • Freddie mercury is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how about Bono's hair?lol

  • bob geldof is good i think

  • Amazing

I was even awesome when the crowd joined in without being asked It's just awesome

  • Comment removed

  • Wonderful ! Even if there is still much work to do.

  • AMAZING

    GREAT TIME

  • I think I'm seeing good old Rick Astley too =)

    At around 2:17

  • Nah, not Rick Astley ... he wasn't really well-known until a couple of years after this and was not part of Band Aid. He was a participant in Band Aid II however. I think you're seeing the late Stuart Adamson of Big Country at 2:17.

  • Plus: Rick Astley was much younger at that time

  • Thanks a lot for posting this video!!!!

  • How lucky you are!!!!!! I live in Mexico City and I was eleven years old but I did follow the whole concert and 23 years later this moment makes me feel the same emotion and brings me to tears like then.

  • it was the mast alsom concert ever i was at wembley stadium i wated over 24 hrs to get in and 25 pounds it was worth every penny

  • Ah :] I love this.

    Its a shame I wasn't even born in 1985

3 of my biggest idols on that stage, Freddie Mercury, George Michael, and Adam Ant.

    :'']

  • look freddie mercury at 2:24

    I love this man!

  • Your most welcome on my comment, it's the truth! I see your from The Netherlands, my father was from Bussum, Holland! I still haven't had a chance to visit such a beautiful country! Maybe someday cheers from Canada!

  • I wish I could of been there! I play this when I need to be reminded that hunger & war will never go away until we gather & give of ourselves unselfishly as these artists did! We have a long way to go!

  • It makes me feel like it's Christmas already

  • Did I see Freddie Mercury and the singer of the who?

Man! Is does this concert look so totally awesome!!

  • This video is gonna make me so jealous of the people there.

    I love it!

Awesome vid! Thanks for putting it up!

  • FREDDIE....
