  • Hey Sam, what's up? I've had the privilege of sitting next to Sam in the Odean Pope Saxophone Choir for many years, and he's as fine a human being as he is a musician. What isn't stated in this interview is that the Uptown in Philly was usually the last stop for acts before they opened at the Apollo in NYC. Many of these acts were desperate to get to the Uptown and to get Sam's help and advice on how to polish their show for their Apollo opening.
