I love this place I used to go every wednesday night whenI was in school. it was $3 to get in back in the mid 90's-2000. I remember rolling the dice winning prizes, and having birthday parties there too. Back than i also remember that you could request a song, too and they would try to play it for you. :) Fun Times. :)

This definitely is the BEST skaterink I've ever been to. I've *unfortunately* lived in several states and have not yet found one anywhere near compareable. Sadly, I have not been here in nearly 18 years, but I am glad to see that it has barely changed at all. I look forward to moving back to Sioux Falls.

Get your wheels a rollin at carousel skate! I used to go all the time, I like Wed. nights the best it's not so packed on those nights, and better music is played on wed. nights too! Fun place I would recommend it to anyone who likes to skate.

i love carousel skate. i go there many times throughout the year. and i'm pretty sure my 2nd thru 17th birthday parties were all there if memory serves. my 18th will be no different. lol its a great environment to be. sometimes its smashed w/ people who are reall- jerks, but there are even more people there willing to defend people too.

my daughter and I skated religiously 7 days a week for 6 years and then the rink closed because the owner's daughter passed away from cancer. Boy was that a double shock. We have since moved to another state and have found another rink. Gotta skate!

Hi Retroforever, it IS the original wood floor! It is coated with an Acrylic polymer however (as many rink owners have chosen to do. So ride and smoothness is fine and not as slippery as maple. BTW, just having a good floor is not the only thing that makes a good rink. There are other factors.

That, or there are a lot of layers of plasic on the floor, that's what happened to ours, made the floor look white.

The floor has skating circle patterns on the floor and is the original wooden floor, which gets sanded and refinished every year. No built up layers, so it's very nice skating.

Looks like they don't have a maple wood floor...so it's not a good rink.
