I'm white, and I admit that I really do hate my pale skin. I envy my darker friends. I would tan, but I don't want cancer and besides, tanning often looks way too unatural. I also hate my bushy, frizzy hair, and put tons of products in it and use either a straightening iron or curling iron every other day. I've often wished I was born a different race. William Ellison owned more slaves than 99 percent of the South's slaveholders. Widow C. Richards and her son P.C. Richards was a black slave owner who owned a large sugar cane plantation and 152 slaves.

I will just keep saying this why do you think that is if it were your race being enslaved wouldnt you own slaves wouldnt you treat them better then the black man please stop reading the history books and dont you ever wonder why american history is filled with other cultures strives and struggles???? what exactly is american culture please tell me without the mention of one other single race

Why don't you educate yourself on black slave owners. Since you obviously weren't taught in school, take your own initiative. Don't read it from racist anti black slave sights, but read it from legitimate historians, including black authors!
Perhaps it was because they were treated badly that they felt if they treated their slaves even worse, they would elevate production. I don't know the answer.

In an 1856 letter to his wife Mary Custis Lee, Robert E. Lee called slavery "a moral and political evil." Yet he concluded that black slaves were immeasurably better off here than in Africa, morally, socially and physically.
African American historian, Duke University professor John Hope Franklin, records that in New Orleans over 3,000 free Negroes owned slaves, or 28 percent of the free Negroes in that city.

Secondly, you think white Americans brought you here? LMAO Read a history book. Dutch and Spanish slave traders brought your ancestors here. You think blacks built America? LMAO They worked fields as the Mexicans do today. The railroads were built by the Irish and the Chinese. By the way, you were slaves back in Africa!
