GB has the land and the climate to have a great economy in tourism agriculture for starters and then maybe get a chemical building cheao labour market for lots world african companies, but they refuse and they are in fact making the country stay in condition of poverty, look at this do you think the leaders give shit about tese people, they dont they live in huge houses sometimes in swit. ou new york
everytime we tried to go there and make a diff in starting common companies with portuguese investment to make a vibrant economy with agriculture to feed the people build hosp and schools they always pushed us away they are hidding smething and want europeans away for obvious reasons they have hijacked the country and its resources for themselfs all the former anti colonialist guerrilla are noe the dictators, and portugal is a poor country we could be helping eachother but they refuse to do so
whas happening in guine bissau was nothing to do with portugal we left in 74, we always supported and try to help guine we received thousands people in portugal that shot at us while we where there, so thats is to be praised, the prob. is the common corrupt gov. of GB witch is now a narco state they use the money and resources not to make a better country but for armys and for their ownj swiss bank accounts nd they are in cahuts with american companies and drug dealers from colombia and brazil
funny how they shot at us with ak47 and chinese rockets lauchers in 74 and now they seem so peaceful, theres nothing like extreme poverty to become more open
shit we left in 74... lol we are still the guilty ones, shit blame it on the white man, kill all the white men... if we where still there this would be a fucking resort like it was in 60s
the sisters in those missions are like angels, even though i'm atheist i praise their commitment and that of the volunteers...such a hard task... in a country where ordinary people don't want to take care of orphans because they belive they're possessed by demons.

Very nice informative film. Good human interest. Worth seeing to understand some of the challenges of the place, and the contributions of some special people helping others.
Very good narration. Too bad the Journeyman group does not give attribution to the crew and narrator. End cuts off to promo of the company.
why do they continue to portray Africa in such a bad light?
Portugal was, and still is responsible for the misery of those people living in that part of Africa.
For Portugese to now come and offer medical services, is nothing more than an attempt at redemption for the suffering they have inflicted on innocent people. No act will ever atone you DEVILS for the EVIL you have meted out.
I can back up what junglejammin, because I am from GUINEA BISSAU, the country where the film was made. The Portuguese are the responsible for what's happen, and happening in the country. After what happen in 1998, they had an hand in Joao Bernardo Vieira, return to power( 2005), that he held for 25 years. I can back up everything I am stating here!
@junglejammin how can you says Portugal is a responsible for the misery of those peoples? I from Guinea Bissau and now I still here and I think I will stay here for rest of my live, but think about these people and look for family of politics life, they are everything they went and Hospital for them is Europe not here, you know?
Guinea Bissau are free since 1974, and Portugal still responsible? Please think about that broth, we are so lazy pretty lazy
What natural resources are located in Guinea-Bissau? How will this country release itself from debt? Even if they are allowed to write-off their debts, what will they do to prosper? Are the people of Guinea-Bissau entitled to reparations from the French or Portuguese government?

I am sad that Na wie died because he was doing his job. He found drugs in army barracks a week before he was killed. I have my picture above my desk

What about agriculture? Can they prosper by using the land? How would they keep their crops from being "Monsanto'ed?"
