@SuperGigaman: You do realize that HMX created GH right? They always innovate and add something new with each game they do. GH1 had you simulating a guitar, GH2 had 2 player co-op, RB had 4 player co-op, ect, ect. If anything GH continued to imitate what RB was doing.

Yes RB added their little gimmics but the little improvements (lol Party play) down to most of the setlist where taken. You don't expect an abonadoned game to skyrocket out of nowhere do u? of course GH had to catch up.

Like many RB fans out there, I have to say that without Guitar Hero, the rhythm gaming genre wouldn't be as big as it stands today. Plastic instruments wouldn't populate our gaming centers and people would never know of the amazing music released back in the the 60's-80's. It's been fun. R.I.P GH.

The only thing that makes me sad is that DJ Hero was also Axed. I switched over to RB years ago but I still play some DJ Hero because it's a good game for the most part, DJ Hero 2 had excellent DLC, at that.

If Activisions hadn't fucked up, there would have been no need for Rock Band at all. I don't know what Guitar Hero would have become, but it would have been better than Guitar Hero has become. I'm glad it's gone, but I hope Rock Band won't share its fate. Come over to the good side, GH diehard!

@SuperGigaman You must be confused sir, RB is the abbreviation for Rock Band, the game that Guitar hero had been copying off since about 2007. GH is the abbreviation for guitar hero, I'm glad I could help clear that up for you!

If it weren't for Harmonix, there would be no joy. (period) Neversoft just copied everything they had done, and did next to nothing in terms of innovation. I am not saddened by GH's death at all, because the games have been over produced and perverted by lazy developers.

Even though there wouldn't have been a Rock Band without Guitar Hero, the Guitar Hero that spawned Rock Band was not Activisions Guitar Hero. It was Harmonix's Guitar Hero. My hope is that now we will get some of the bands on Rock Band that Activision was holding hostage.
