No one has a right to force a doctor to work for free. No one has a right to force someone else to pay that doctor either.
There can be no RIGHT to medical care because it would violate other people's rights.
There are many middle ground solutions. Charity care from doctors and hospitals choosing to provide free care, and many medical charity funds exist. Why not look at those examples for solutions?

The Government's role is to help those that REALLY need it! If 80% of the population is satisfied with their healthcare, as studies have shown, then you supply the 20% with an affordable plan, leaving the others alone, not gutting the entire system for a program costing over a trillion dollars that we can't afford!
That's my whole point, severe cost overruns are synonymous with government programs. Establish a healthcare program for the 20% who need it. It's not 50 billion a year, it's 890 Billion for 10 years, and it will exceed that by a long shot! Besides we don't have the money!

Nope, you didn't succeed because as I said, the laws passed by the legislature are carried out in a constitutional manner and then become the supreme law of the land. It doesn't need to say in the Constitution what is passed through law. There are sections and clauses listing the powers of Congress and how it can spend money and make laws, and if a law or act of legislature fits in there then it's constitutional.
The 10th Amendment simply preserves state sovereignty, but doesn't negate the Necessary and Proper Clause in Article One of the Constitution itself. The Tenth Amendment has a purpose- to remind us that the federal government shall not overpower the states on issues of sovereignty and overrule them when not backed up by constitutional enumerated powers. If it's based in the Constitution then the Tenth doesn't matter, because the states don't override the Supreme law of the land.
But isn't it funny how now you have to resort to the Tenth Amendment to support secularism now that the First has been proven non-secular in nature? Lol, keep grabbing at straws- you'll find something soon, I'm sure.

It is tragic and wrong that some people can't afford life saving medical care.
No one has a right to force a doctor to work for free. No one has a right to force someone else to pay that doctor either.
There can be no RIGHT to medical care because it would violate other people's rights.
There are many middle ground solutions. Charity care from doctors and hospitals choosing to provide free care, and many medical charity funds exist. Why not look at those examples for solutions?

Welfare only goes to failures. Rewarding failure promotes more failure. This reform is rewarding failures at the expense of the successful.
The real problem is that health care costs too much. The proposed "reform" incorrectly addresses that issue with price fixing. Fix the health insurance paradigm, tort, excess medical regulations, etc.

I completely agree! There are life preserving, fundamental responsibilities, all citizens expect, and rightly so. Man is flawed, and any government will have its pros and cons. I'm simply saying, capitalism has afforded us a quality of life, seen by no other system known to man, and when I see it under assault, for the sake of my children and yours, I'm going to defend it.

I simply believe it is a FUNDAMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY of a doctor to treat the sick. That's what the Hippocratic oath is about. Yet, here in the USA, we let people loose their houses, livelihoods, and lives trying to cover the costs of saving themselves or their children.
I do not believe this is "capitalism." This isn't just unjust. This is downright cruel.

It's not only a fundamental responsibility, it's the LAW! Doctors MUST treat anyone who walks into their facility needing, treatment! Let people loose their homes? They must sign a contract, promising to repay the bank loan. This is their responsibility, not yours, not mine. It's a promise they're making to the bank! I struggle to make my mortgage payment but, I make it! If I can't make the payment, I'm not looking for the government to bail me out. RESPONSIBILITY!!!

Is it RIGHT that people sell their possessions, their homes, and everything else they ever had trying to pay for an unexpected illness? Knowing that the day when their money runs out, their life does to?
Is that really how a FREE NATION should decide who lives or dies?

They TAKE from some and give to others, and during the transition, politicians will slip a few bills in their own pockets! There's not this, endless supply of funds coming out of Washington!

True, people do not get turned away at the door. They get treatments, in fact better than those with insurance in many cases because there is no bureaucrat denying the procedure. So, why do we need to bunkrupt the country to porovide insurance for people who are being treated anyway? This will certainly overwhelm the current system top the point of it being even more dysfunctional than those other socialist countries names above. Then no one will get treated. Good idea.

If 80% of the population is satisfied with their healthcare, as studies have shown, then you supply the 20% with an affordable plan, leaving the others alone, not gutting the entire system for a program costing over a trillion dollars that we can't afford!

Public Option means you have a choice UNTIL you get word from your employer that you will be dropped from their plan and you must enroll in the Government plan! When Government is in competition, and at the same time, making the rules, any CHOICE is soon eliminated! Check it out for yourself!

Their healthcare systems are socialized and thus dysfunctional. People come to the US to get procedures they need because if they wait until the social programs get to them in their own countries, they're dead. Half of my family are from Canada so I know first hand. You are just another lib who has an entitlement complex and believe the world owes you something. I believe in America we are all entitled to life, liberty, and the pusuit of happiness. Notice LIFE is first in that list. If you are willing to pay the fireman to charge into the burning building or the cop to face down the armed robber in the name of protecting life, you should be willing to pay the surgeon to get the tumor out of the kid's head. It has nothing to do with my heart, it has everything to do with a faulty premise...which yours is. On what authority must MDs provide services? You cannot answer that because it's wrong. If they are working for a hospital that receives federal funds, and runs an emergency dept.,yes, they cannot turn anyone away.The doctors are salaried and get paid by the hospital, the hospital eventually gets reimbursed at the govt. rate.Ultimately, the taxpayers get stuck with the bill and higher cost.

How do I NOT have respect for "anything"? I have respect for LOTS of things. I respect the rule of law, the right to privacy, the rights of minorities, the right of a gay person to have the same rights as straights (rather than straights holding a monopoly on rights regarding marriage and adoption). Read Bill Kauffman's "Ain't My America." He talks about a very long tradition of antiwar conservatives and libertarians. Yes, many of them WERE Republicans. Nope, you didn't succeed because as I said, the laws passed by the legislature are carried out in a constitutional manner and then become the supreme law of the land. It doesn't need to say in the Constitution what is passed through law. There are sections and clauses listing the powers of Congress and how it can spend money and make laws, and if a law or act of legislature fits in there then it's constitutional.

The 10th Amendment simply preserves state sovereignty, but doesn't negate the Necessary and Proper Clause in Article One of the Constitution itself. The Tenth Amendment has a purpose- to remind us that the federal government shall not overpower the states on issues of sovereignty and overrule them when not backed up by constitutional enumerated powers. If it's based in the Constitution then the Tenth doesn't matter, because the states don't override the Supreme law of the land.

I'm trying to watch the video but when I actually read the text it just seems to say "Health care reform will make us strong". I don't give a fuck about desecrating the flag (so don't think I'm just butthurt over that), but I fail to see what this is supposed to do. We obviously need to change our healthcare, but I don't see how just saying it over and over will help.
