@TehPenar i still dont think so, compare jacare matches in mma to roger's, once the fight hits the ground roger immediately wraps dude up and fucks them up but jacare takes a lot of time before he finishes em, sometimes they even get back up to their feet, not saying jacare is not sick to death he's awesome but i just think roger has better bjj for mma aswell

you might be right, but roger hasnt really fought any stand out grapplers who arent totally over the hill yet. all of jacare's fights before he started fighting upper tier guys were first round submissions or striking stoppages from dominant positions.

we'll see if roger still manages to effortlessly submit everyone once he's fighting better competition. it could happen, but we wont know until it does :p

Jacare really shows off his black belt in Judo with the way he moves, avoids guard, throws, sweeps, and uses his balance to avoid being taken down. I'd say he is a Judoka before a BJJ player.

yep. Roger broke his arm and Jacare didn't tap and the ref didn't stop the fight. Jacare was up on points, so he used his belt to support his broken arm, rode out the clock and got the win.

It's kinda controversial because technically, when you break somebody's arm, the ref should stop the match and award the win to the other guy. But in the grand scheme of things it just shows the Jacare is one tough SOB.

Look I don't want to get in this old argument again. Yes, bjj comes from kodokan judo. Get it! "Kodokan". Not, the olympic judo or the judo you train at your dojo. This Brazilian jiu jitsu. You can't call it brazilian judo because it doesn't emphasize stand up like traditional schools. Plus, techniques from wrestling and sambo have been added to its arsenal. So, its not basically "judo". And please don't get offended, I respect judo and think its great if you mix it with bjj.
