  • She IS riding the flat train, but what great exposure for the song/Kerrigan-Lowdermilk. And she's just so darn lovable.

  • Love Leigh Taylor. She has a beautiful voice, such Broadway style.

  • I love how this songs about her deciding to give up her virginity. I don't like the twangs though..

  • I absolutely love this song! She doesn't quite rock it, but let's be honest: she's probably nervous as shit.

  • Whoops, not your best day or performance. Need some more training! :)

  • nerves got to her... and you know what she was more confident in prelims

  • I love this song and have used it for some auditions and this girl just did not give it justice. I agree with tddlywink... really flat

  • she reminds me of mandy moore

  • little flat there.

  • what a beautiful song destroyed by such a terrible voice!!! great exposure though!

  • she's very pretty, and im sure she's extremely nice.

but holy crap, from 1:31 to the end, she was riding the flat train.

if you're familiar with kerrigan-lowdermilk's work, you know what this song is supposed to sound like.

and ms. smith just didnt cut it.

  • I wish someone would post Miss Iowas tap dancing, I thought she had the best talent

  • I miss Leigh-Taylor. :( She's so funny.

  • I don't think it was THAT bad. It had some spots, butttt I thought it was pretty good overall! ^.^

  • i gotta agree with u chez, she did not understand what this song was about.

  • LOL, that was so mediocre.

  • Beautiful voice and song...it just kinda sounded like she couldn't hear either herself or the music. That's frustrating when it happens on stage, but there's not much you can do except keep going and hope the soundbooth people can fix it!

  • oh honey no. no more singing please. Maybe just stick to being pretty. don't sing something you dont believe in or understand

  • wow that was kinda rough... it might have been just nerves but still... rough

  • she camee to my school today, shes the sweetest person ever! good job leigh taylor!

  • I met her about 6 years ago, and you're right. She's SO sweet to everyone she comes across.

  • yeah not my most favorite performance, i think it was just nerves though, because she has a good tone behind her voice.

  • Beautiful. NYC was well represented.

  • Congrats! This is amazing!

    Cathy

  • rough. way to be flat.

  • The exposure is awesome for you guys... I don't like her in the song though, aside from the fact that she didn't seem to have a connection to the acting side of the song... Smiling and looking pretty just isn't enough.

  • yo she went to my high school!! i saw her today

  • Her preliminary night sounded better, which is also on YouTube I believe, however I give her so much credit. It's so nerve racking to sing at a local pageant, let alone Miss America! Not only are you competing for the biggest title, you're singing in front of millions of people, which is something that we're not used to doing on a regular basis. I think she did a great job.

  • Love this song, but I feel like if you can't belt the E you should pick something else to sing, not chop up the song. :/

  • Seriously?

  • Hm....go flat much? I prefer CKB's version

  • she does not do this song justice.... at all

  • I prefer Celia Keenan Bolger. BUT I love the song!!!!!

  • She sounds like a Disney Princess!

  • ditto sparky. she's kinda whiny...but god i love that song!

  • I'm not a big fan of her voice....at all.

But yay on the kerrigan/lowdermilk exposure! :D

  • Yay for Kait and Brian. The announcer should have said, "by Kerrigan and Lowdermilk"!

  • I was watching this the other day with my family, saying "I know this song but I can't remember how."

  • I was so excited when he said "Say the Word"! Yay for Brian and Kait! She held her own, but I prefer Celia's version.

  • she has such a pretty voice

  • Deviled Eggs has long been a Leigh-Taylor Smith fan. I think she did a great job with a great song....congratulations.

  • so happy she sang your fabulous song, it was easily recognized as KERRIGAN-LOWDERMILK !!! Please, please get a show on broadway...

  • Definitely not a fan of her singing, but most definitely a fan of the song!!

    Congratulations on the major exposure!!

  • amazing! congratulations, guys!

  • So happy she sand ur song!!

  • ahhhh yayy! i thought it was some old classic cuz i coulda sworn i heard it before

  • yayayayayayayay

  • YAY KERRIGAN/LOWDERMILK!!!!!!

  • That's so cool! Not the best performance of the song... but still really cool! I liked the arrangement a lot, though.

  • I am so happy that more exposer is coming to these amazing composers!

  • I don't like her diction/vibrato/rtgdsfnh... but I love this song.

    Congrats!

  • I'm not really a fan of her singing, but.....I am so glad that Kerrigan and Lowdermilk are getting such major exposure. This and "Not a Love Story" are my favorite K&L songs....soon, they'll be HIT songs!

  • That is incredible! Congrats!

  • woah! that's so cool!

  • That's so cool that she sang your song!

  • Woah...! That's like, incredibly awesome!

I mean, I disapprove of beauty pageants like this, but it's REALLY cool that she sang Say The Word...

  • OMG, this is really cool!! At first I was thinking, what has this got to do with Kerrigan and Lowdermilk... And then...!! This is really cool.
