very similar to tai chi ruler exercises - noting the research many goju schools have done into their chinese roots in the last 25 years.

No! It absolutely has to be a wooden ball. Absolutely. Otherwise the ghost of Miyagi will come for you.
Seriously though, a you could probably do these same exercises with a heavily stuffed suitcase or a small beer keg, if you were so inclined.

Superb training techniques !!! I have a medicine ball, that should suffice.

I am sure a medicine ball can be substituted here in the USA.

What a great way to train. It seems that the ball would restrict people from exaggerating their arm movements. Nice! Also seems incredible for timing your stepping and balancing an extra load in the process.
