the problem with usa 1 is that its way to over geared so the motors need work too much, sure strong motors but it really cant handle it well so run times get very short and motors have problem to max out its fully rpm. USA 1 would actually had worked better with a much lower gear ratio and 540 motors similar to the clod
the problem with Kyosho is there marketing in the USA and they fact they are small. Tamiya's clod buster had and still has massive aftermarket support. this happens all the time. The twin force and the emaxx. why did the heavier more fraigile truck (emaxx) stay around? Its all about hype.
The E-Maxx 3905 is a lot stronger than the first one, handles 4S 7XL brushless power without any issues. The only weak point is the bulkheads, but even then you do need some severe jumps to make them break.
im considdering buying the super clodbuster i really like it a hell of alot but the super clod is just as good as the good ol normall clodbuster right?
I agree, the USA-1 was faster and more agile than the Clod (as mentioned in RCCA) which is why I went with it but IMO the shortcomings of the kit outweigh that.
I didn't think the fit and finish of the parts were as precise as Tamiya kits, the gearboxes seemed to have more drag, and of course there was the steering issue.
Unlike the long-d/c USA-1, the Clod is still around, is more realistic looking and can be made to handle and drive very nicely with all of the aftermarket parts.
USA-1 was a horrible kit with a notorious steering problem. I had one up until a year ago (sold) but should've went with the Clod instead. Have a TXT-1 now which can lay the smack down on both. Nice trucks though.
Yeah, I purchased the electric USA-1 based on the recommendation of RCCA years ago who stated that it was faster and more agile than the Clod. What they failed to mention is the horrible steering.
Despite some extensive modification including upgraded shocks and a "Sassy" aluminum chassis w/ bellcrank steering, it never turned well at all. The Clod was definitely a better choice and has stood the test of time. Not so for the USA-1. Happy with my TXT-1 though. Cheers.
which RC is faster?

I deactivated the rear steering at my USA-1. This was a great improvement.

Very true,, and its too bad, i actually like some of the kyosho vehicles, but hesitate on buying them because of the lack of parts availability.
