Both Karan and Scindia missed the point here . Focusing on whether Scindia has benefited from his royal background is irrelevant here because he is young, and works hard for his constituency. The essential argument is evasive and a tacit admission regarding his party's sole objective in an election - to win at any cost. They are simply looking for a "winnable" candidate, not necessarily the most meritocratic.

As for the anti-incumbency point, the party sells the candidate's parentage to the public, who give him the benefit of doubt. If you loose the next time, the only looser is the country who did not get the best possible candidate in the first go, thru a democratic process.
