@MrChrisRab Sooooo totally agree with you! This was the best comment sooo far! Something i would say! Just say the real explanation and how it works and how they did it, instead of saying things that they think will make us say " whoaaaa!!! Its something from the sun! No ordinary person can get that?!" hahaha theyre crazy! And thinking were crazy enough to buy their marketing BS!
The surface of the sun thing is gas plasma. Its not so exotic, you're probably in a room lit with plasma right now (fluorescent lights). The magic liquid is probably 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctyl acrylate (H2CdCHCO2CH2CH2(CF2)5CF3, PFAC) or similar. The plasma chemically activates the gas so that it can bind chemically to a surface. This allows for very thin molecular coverage. Pulsing the plasma makes structures similar to lotus leaf giving extra water repellancy.
Good point about the headphone jack. Actually that would probably have to be masked off so that the application did not cover it, otherwise it may interfere with the headphone plug making contact. So ultimately water could still short out the headphone jack.
For those who are talking about the physical contact of the charger pins and the pin hole... something to KNOW ABOUT... NOTHING NONE NOT JUST ONE THING WE TOUCH OR PLACE OR FEEL DON"T EVEN COME CLOSE TO CONTACT... THINGS NEVER CONTACT EACH OTHER ...THEY JUST COME CLOSE ENOUGH TO FEEL THE RESISTANCE OF THE MOLECULAR STRUCTURE OF THE THINGS REMEMBER THAT ...if one pin REALLY contact THe PIN receiptor YOUR PHONE WILL BECOME A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION DEVISE DUMBASSES....
@Erima0simadia Device, and contacts. Dumbass :P. You can't come on here, post something intelligent and not bother with punctuation and spelling. It just shits on whatever you say.
i have another very nice idiea luquipel could use to get bigger i think so ... you could design an perfectly fitting plastic film that is very thin an not scrachable or not easy... that would be very usefull around of the device to not damage the liquipel film :)
@DarkReaper155 if you have to plug in a phone to your charger 10 times in 1 day, get a new phone. and this isn't something for ur gonna need everyday either, how many times a year do you drop your phone in water? -_-...
"Only found on the surface of the Sun!" That's why Liquipel had to send some dude with a shovel to pick that up and swim all the 350 million kilometers back. Because we all know people swim in vacuum and the Sun is not a gas ball.
If you want to look professional, please give REAL explanations or none at all. But considering the viewer is an idiot does NOT make me want to buy this product.
@MrChrisRab I am not sure who proclaimed you to be an astrology master, but please stop trying to act smart. Also, the video says it's only NATURALLY OCCURRING on the surface of the sun. Ignorant people like you never cease to amaze me.
Sounds like a scam to me. At least not nearly what it claims to be. Why don't they say what the gas is? Don't know of any gases that magically cling to every surface within electronics...
So I can start taking photos or shooting videos underwater, for example, snorkelling or call my friend while surfing at the beach? Can it keep the phone DRY while you are sweating from workout or jungle or perhaps, cave tracking and the Liquipel coated device is in your pocket?
So it looks like Liquipel deleted my comment. Classy. Anyway... I will ask again since they must delete rather than respond.
How am I to charge my phone? If this coating covers the phone in a low pressure chamber...that MUST mean the pins on the charge port have been covered as well. If these pins are covered with the anti-conductive coating then the phone will NEVER CHARGE. Please respond. And please dont delete my comment again
@littlec916 obviously my comment was deleted because Liquipel is trying to hide this from you. They are hoping people with less electrical knowledge will fall for their evil marketing plan.
@littlec916 they never said the coating was anti-conductive. It is however, hydrophobic. So if the water does not make contact with the pins, then it will not cause a short circuit. But when the charger is plugged in and there is direct contact, the power flows just fine through the hydrophobic coating.
@littlec916 Do you really think they would sell a product that renders your device un-chargeable? They make the statement that it will not change the functionality of your device in any way. This includes charging.
"Using technology only found in nature on the surface of the sun."
What a load of horseshit. This is why I hate marketing; it's always aimed at the lowest intellectual denominator. Who believes this shit? Ooh, big fancy claim for polarized ionic bonding.
@Hardwyre It may be surprising but the everyday Joe does not know what polarized ionic bonding is. Nor do they even know what ionized plasma is. Most people who went to school do at least know that the sun outer layers are plasma and it's not just a bright lightbulb in the sky. If you want to nit pick you could instead point out that ball lightning is technically plasma and made by nature :)
@Hardwyre He was talking bout the lilies! They just copied the concept from lilies which they call NANOTECHNOLOGY. Perfected by nature BILLIONS OF YEARS AGO.
So I just thought of something. If this 'coating' goes on all of the phone then this must include the charge port. This means that the pins on the charge port are being covered in your anti-conductive material. This then renders the charge port completely useless. I have a charger that needs to make physical contact with those pins in order to pass current. If you are covering those pins with your 'coating' then that physical connection is gone and I can no longer charge my phone. Please comment
@littlec916 It's not anti-conductive. Electrons can flow through the coating, but water cannot penetrate it. The charger still connects and works as normal, but the contacts are not "wet" even submerged, so there is no short.
@blazer0x blazer...water will not damage anything in an electronic device such as a phone. I work with electronics all day long. My company ships tens of thousands of units per month and we hand wash EVERY one of them. So please enlighten me as to how water(matter) can not touch the contacts when my charger(matter) can. This is simple physics. There is no magic to this stuff...
@littlec916 of course it's not the water itself that causes any damage. It's the short circuits that happen as the water conducts the battery voltage to sensitive IC and such that cannot handle it. As for how something can not be touched by water, do some research on hydrophobic substances. It's the same thing that allows them to dip a treated kleenex under water and it comes out completely dry.
@distantarray The process they use involves ionized plasma, which is also found in the sun. They aren't getting it FROM the sun, they are just saying it's a similar, natural substance and not radioactive or anything weird.
@327bran The chamber they put your phone in has the vacuum. Think of it as sucking all of the air out of the chamber, including the air inside your phone. Then they inject plasma into the chamber that contains the waterproofing agent, and it is "sucked" into your phone and everything the plasma touches inside and out gets coated.
@blazer0x There is nothing that would cause the 'plasma' to be sucked into the phone if it is placed inside a vacuum since the pressure would be the same outside and inside the phone. This looks like a complete scam.
@blazer0x: I presume it must be like they treat 'pressure treated' wood.. It's not actually pressure that forces the wood treatment into the wood. The wood is placed into a vacuum, the treatment is added to the same vacuum, and when the pressure is returned to normal, the vacuumed-out empty air pockets inside the wood 'suck' the treatment in as the pressure returns to normal.
@cavalrycome true, "sucked" is probably a poor choice of words and they are probably just trying to help people visualize. If all the air is removed from the chamber (and from inside the phone), when they introduce a substance (plasma in this case) into the chamber it will spread throughout the chamber and into the phone everywhere that a gas can get to.
You say water is this natural spring water, chlorine based water and salt water will they all be under the same category, also, you say liquids what about sugary products such as coca-cola that leave sticky residue after its in the device will this clog the phone up and form a sticky barrier over the LIQUIPEL barrier?
@ liquipel How long can the device be submerged in water? Also, what's the depth that it can withstand? I ask this, because my pool is notorious for destroying phones. Last summer, friend dove in forgot he had his iPhone 3GS in his pocket went to the bottom (8ft) came back up realized phone was in pocket still, took it out of pocket, and the phone was already broken. This was in a matter of less than 5seconds.
STUPID PEOPLE DONT WATCH THIS! IS TOTALY FAKE AND ON VIDEOS THEY DONT DROP WATER BUT OIL ! SO NO SHORT-CIRCUIT FOR IPHONE ! THEY ALL ARE STEALERS!DONT TRUST ANYONE
@discoboyminimal sorry man. yer wrong on this one. I have my phone protected and have been in a pond with my horse. the phone survived. don't spout if'n you don't know.
nowadays all electronic devices are water proof, but untill a certain depth. like in this video: /watch?v=kVHb5C1GDVw, almost every device will still work, but if you drop it in a pool and let it sink to the bottom, then there is a bigger chance it gets broken..
@joscastro1984 Yes they will but not while underwater (with most devices) as they need to vibrate the air to make sound. Liquipel will keep them from becoming water logged and getting destroyed.
Does it repel things other than water? Juice? Ketchup? But most importantly how about Alcohol? If it can repel Alcohol then who have my guaranteed buy!
@alfst Why the hell would you want a shitty company like Apple buying up this nice company? Do you want to service to be overpriced and only available for Apple products?
As we know, when the iPhone is being charged, the port has some friction to lock the charger in place. Will that 'wear' the protective 'lining', causing the water to damage the phone?
Also, does this 'lining' wear off? Or is it permanent.
@ngv024 It is bound with the molecules on the surface. If you were to scratch hard enough you could damage the surface below the coating. Wearing off the coating around the 30 pin "hooks" would not change the performance of the product but I understand what you are saying. As far as the connector we have addressed this by plugging in and unplugging the 30 pin 2500 times... This is well beyond the amount it should see in its life and it still performed fine.
@liquipel But I do see iPhone users plugging their stuff more than 10 times a day..which translates to 3650 cycles a year. So you guys are sure Liquipel is ready for commercialisation?
@tshort215 Yes you can still apply protective films and screen protectors. We have teamed with a company named Gadget Filmz that has very high quality films we can apply before returning your device to you.
If my charging port gets wet and i cant reach the inside part of it to wipe and dry it off, then how the hell will i charge my iphone. When i plug it in, i'll be electricuted from the water in the inside part of my part
@jhoncdoodle There are post exposure steps to take if your phone does accidentally come in contact with water. One of these steps is dabbing your ports with a paper towell and then allowing time for it to dry before trying to charge it. They do dry out and and no one at Liquipel has ever been shocked and we do this quite a bit.
So if it protects the device from water, then what it's really doing is protecting the device from short circuits caused by water linking exposed contacts within the device. The coating would be non-conductive and hence, you won't be able to charge your phone anymore since it would prevent electrical conduction between the phone and the charging cable. How will I charge my phone if your amazing molecular coating truly protects every square nanometer of the phone from water?
@NickTheGrip You know what you are talking about. What makes Liquipel special is when there is direct connection it allows the current to pass back and forth. It will not impede the use of your device in any way.
@liquipel So when acting as a dielectric between the plates of a capacitor, it changes to a conductor because the material is highly nonlinear and polarizes more as the electric field applied to it increases? I'm curious as to what the critical field strength is that effectively makes this material a conductor, because it's basically a semiconductor. In fact, this heating and flowing of gas over the device is very similar to how transistors are made.
Apple should get onboard with this and have it as standard on its devices! It is one of the most useful/amazing things I have ever seen.
I am curious, since its basically waterproof, does this coating then automatically protect it from other things such as fingerprints and dust/dirt etc? You could conceivably pop it in a bowl of water to clean your phone off!
@RobHague It does not prevent the device from getting fingerprints or dust/dirt since the device remains "open". Liquipel does not seal off any parts of the device. It is protecting your device from the short circuiting and corrosion that water and other liquids cause. Yes it is conceivable that you could drop your device in a mud puddle (an almost certain death for a device) and wash the dirt off. Sounds like a good idea for a video.
Hi, I'd like to help your company. I understand how the economy is changing for the worse. Small businesses such as yours may be difficult to start. I'm here to say that I'd like to help, and sponsor your buisness via my YouTube channel. I have 28,000 total upload views. Now that may not seem like a lot. But that could be 28,000 paying customers for your buisness . There's is no many in return. I ask nothing of you, but the right to feature your material on my videos. Thank you - jk9608
@seanlzq Right now you have to send us your device. We have very quick turn around time so it is only a matter of the time in transit. Please look for our website launch at Liquipel.com. We will be launching shortly. Thank you for your interest.

What about the speakers??? Will they still work
joscastro1984 3 months ago 8
@joscastro1984 Yes they will but not while underwater (with most devices) as they need to vibrate the air to make sound. Liquipel will keep them from becoming water logged and getting destroyed.
liquipel 2 months ago
@liquipel Sound is able to propagate thru liquids, though.

Does it repel things other than water? Juice? Ketchup? But most importantly how about Alcohol? If it can repel Alcohol then who have my guaranteed buy!

But how does this protect the interior of the Device? If you're lucky, Apple will buy your company lol
alfst 3 months ago 8
@alfst By creating a low pressure vacuum our formulation is "sucked" into your device.
liquipel 3 months ago
@alfst Why the hell would you want a shitty company like Apple buying up this nice company? Do you want to service to be overpriced and only available for Apple products?

As we know, when the iPhone is being charged, the port has some friction to lock the charger in place. Will that 'wear' the protective 'lining', causing the water to damage the phone?
Also, does this 'lining' wear off? Or is it permanent.
ngv024 3 months ago 2
@ngv024 It is bound with the molecules on the surface. If you were to scratch hard enough you could damage the surface below the coating. Wearing off the coating around the 30 pin "hooks" would not change the performance of the product but I understand what you are saying. As far as the connector we have addressed this by plugging in and unplugging the 30 pin 2500 times... This is well beyond the amount it should see in its life and it still performed fine.
liquipel 3 months ago 7
@liquipel But I do see iPhone users plugging their stuff more than 10 times a day..which translates to 3650 cycles a year. So you guys are sure Liquipel is ready for commercialisation?
DarkReaper155 1 month ago
is it toxic to our health?
aldrichramirez1996 3 months ago
@aldrichramirez1996 Absolutely not!
liquipel 3 months ago
@liquipel oh... well that's good... =)
aldrichramirez1996 3 months ago
Does the coating distort pictures or video in anyway?
tshort215 3 months ago
@tshort215 No we take extra precautions around cameras to keep them from being coated.
liquipel 3 months ago
Will scratch proof films be able to stick to it? For example invisashield?
tshort215 3 months ago
@tshort215 Yes you can still apply protective films and screen protectors. We have teamed with a company named Gadget Filmz that has very high quality films we can apply before returning your device to you.

so, i can charge the phone?

If my charging port gets wet and i cant reach the inside part of it to wipe and dry it off, then how the hell will i charge my iphone. When i plug it in, i'll be electricuted from the water in the inside part of my part
jhoncdoodle 3 months ago
@jhoncdoodle There are post exposure steps to take if your phone does accidentally come in contact with water. One of these steps is dabbing your ports with a paper towell and then allowing time for it to dry before trying to charge it. They do dry out and and no one at Liquipel has ever been shocked and we do this quite a bit.
liquipel 3 months ago
So if it protects the device from water, then what it's really doing is protecting the device from short circuits caused by water linking exposed contacts within the device. The coating would be non-conductive and hence, you won't be able to charge your phone anymore since it would prevent electrical conduction between the phone and the charging cable. How will I charge my phone if your amazing molecular coating truly protects every square nanometer of the phone from water?
NickTheGrip 3 months ago
@NickTheGrip You know what you are talking about. What makes Liquipel special is when there is direct connection it allows the current to pass back and forth. It will not impede the use of your device in any way.
liquipel 3 months ago
@liquipel So when acting as a dielectric between the plates of a capacitor, it changes to a conductor because the material is highly nonlinear and polarizes more as the electric field applied to it increases? I'm curious as to what the critical field strength is that effectively makes this material a conductor, because it's basically a semiconductor. In fact, this heating and flowing of gas over the device is very similar to how transistors are made.
NickTheGrip 3 months ago
Apple should get onboard with this and have it as standard on its devices! It is one of the most useful/amazing things I have ever seen.
I am curious, since its basically waterproof, does this coating then automatically protect it from other things such as fingerprints and dust/dirt etc? You could conceivably pop it in a bowl of water to clean your phone off!
RobHague 4 months ago in playlist More videos from liquipel
@RobHague It does not prevent the device from getting fingerprints or dust/dirt since the device remains "open". Liquipel does not seal off any parts of the device. It is protecting your device from the short circuiting and corrosion that water and other liquids cause. Yes it is conceivable that you could drop your device in a mud puddle (an almost certain death for a device) and wash the dirt off. Sounds like a good idea for a video.
liquipel 3 months ago
@liquipel Thanks for clearing that up and yes that would be a good test! :)
