Little fact's about the AT-AP:

All Terrain Attack Pod (AT-AP)

artillery cannons are on the bottom and the top of The AT-AP an the "big gun" is a long-range cannon

third retractable leg is used for stability during long-range weapon firing

they where used in battle on Kashyyyk and Felucia

Ya, but the AT-AP's main gun, Mass Driver (Basicly a Slug shooter) was considered too weak and undefended, so they had to be used with support like AT-TEs' and AT-RTs'. So thats y u dont see them anymore :(

The mass driver isn't a slug shooter, it's exactly what it says it is- a mass driver. It's a bit like a Gauss cannon, or MAC cannon. It uses electromagnets to propel a ferrous projectile down the barrel.
