I can't believe this is almost a year old and the armors and sound system still haven't been implemented. Game was dwindling throughout 2009, it's 2012 now and there hasn't been any major updates. Just disappointing. Aventurine created such a fantastic game yet decided they'd lie to their playerbase over and over whilst providing next to no support. Companies creating niche games need to embrace the community, not mug them off at every opportunity. This game SHOULD be thriving right now.

Wow, they sound great. Not many games go into that kind of detail with the sound. However, why do sand dunes sound like someone banging two coconuts together?

Very nice AV, I am impressed with your teaser video here and can't wait to see this in game. While I'm no RP'er by any means there is a lot to be said about a game having an atmosphere and life to it that you get drawn into it as if you are actually a part of that world. The dynamic lightning and dynamic environmental sound system are 2 very key components to immersion in the game, 2 thumbs up and can't wait for this next free expac to go live!

I can't wait! I been playing background music from everquest, oblivion, and morrowind from youtube just to help get some immersion going. What armor were those characters wearing? AV should do more advertising in banners and on TV when the long awaited expansion comes out. Great work AV!!

Excellent! I actually don't mind how "exaggerated" the sounds are. Things like this are what will attract more players who aren't totally PK-orientated to the game which is what it needs. The new model and armor looks great and the lighting system is much better especially now that dungeons are lit.

@mikeh1972 Travel systems? There are many ways to travel - by foot, mount, portal chamber, runestone, nexuses, etc.. Auction houses? That is a highly debated feature and many players don't want a global auction house. They've already said they would be implementing more vendors in places like NPC cities or possibly clan cities. The UI is also being totally redone with this expansion.

We need LOCAL ONLY auction houses, yes. Mail system? Possibly, but only for letters and sending gold, no items.

I'm fine with local AH, that works.. my point is, not having any place for people to sell items is ridiculous. I personally don't care if it's an AH or some kind of contract system, but they need /something/.

The reason I want some kind of travel system is simple, some people don't have all day to play games, I have a full time job, I'm a home owner, and I have a girlfriend. My play time is limited, I can't spend 45m to 1 hour to travel across the map.

Seems like they still have a ways to go on this. Then again it's a pretty big undertaking. Painting environmental sounds that dynamically change for weather and time of day and adding sound modifiers for caves, dungeons, cities, water, etc where each sound has several different variations through different modifiers.

It won't be a surprise if this brings bugs with it. Then again, maybe that's what's taking so long getting it released in the first place. Hopefully they find everything beforehand

However, wont having these sounds turned on cause extreme performance drain? Now that it includes acoustics into it wouldnt the client constantly be checking for when it needs to change the acoustics and thus cause a drain on fps?

@GuerrillaFighter12 They're not now just sorting out the sounds, they've added a whole new sound engine. MMO's do that, that's why people pay monthly subs so that the companies can continue to update and improve games post release.
