One thing I noticed: these great singers never copy each other. Crosby makes this song and the other "Sinatra" gems completely his own - different phrasing, timing etc.
Frank does the same when he records the Bing standards from the 30's - Wrap your Troubles in Dreams, Pennies from Heaven etc. Now I'll shut up and listen.
Through AmazonI just bought a wonderful c.d. of 20 Crosby songs mostly recorded in the early to mid 50's. They call the collection Bing sings the Sinatra Songbook but Bing didn't plan that. They were recorded for various Crosby shows in professional studios and have been remastered to perfection. I'm a ferocious fan of both singers but some of the tracks (Young at Heart, You go to my Head) are better than Frank's. There's also a bonus track with Sinatra & Bing singing a medley of 3 songs.
Man this a great tune, I can't decided whose version i like better, this one or Rosemary Clooney's, either way it's a great tune, too bad not many young people like me know good music, Sorry but as a person from today's generation, this to me is real music, it's so charming and smoothing and beautiful, listening to this kind of music it's like going back in time, I like it!! Luv from the Uk!!
this song took on a whole new meaning for me after it had been used in the movie "jawbreaker" but nonetheless, i still adore that smooth dreamy voice :] thank you for this
