ok, ok, you people that keep complaining about this paper wasting issue need to really calm down a pantone. I've worked at a print shop and do designing and still do a lot of my own printing along with that. If you think this is horrible just wait till you see the reject bin you will be shocked. Don't ask about how much paper is wasted just to make a ink bleed, you will want to make a law on it. Stop over reacting on this and take appreciation for this sweet art. Excellent work, guys.

As said below, compared to many ads, not that wasteful or environmentally unsound. Just two blokes in one room and maybe 2 reams of paper. Compared to jetting an entire film crew, gear and cast round the world for some adds. Cost, on the other hand...Well, printer ink is more expensive than gold, so maybe the priciest ad of all time. Oh wait, I forgot, it's only expensive for the consumer, it's the print companies that make us bend over and take it. Cool ad though.

Car companies crash cars all the time for commercials thats much worse for our enviorment then this and you don't see jack yelling at them. Also you know how much paper gets wasted each day by normal people? I doubt that there were as many actual sheets of paper printed as you think there may have been. It is likely that much of this is clever video editing and not many sheets of paper were printed at all.

This film was a student work and not a real HP advertisement. I don't think that HP would actually do a concept like this because many people take it literally and react like you have.

Cheers, a lot of the shots have been looped once one sequence had been captured, which helped cut our paper use down.

Also a large part of the campaign was that each printed page was re-printed with HP marketing information, thus transforming each 'wasted' sheet into a piece of personalised direct mail.
