Holy Crap, I remember being there for that! I think that was after an event during fun runs. That lot used to get used all the time for autocross, usually the course was laid out pretty well to keep cars off of trees. The worst part about the crash was that it wasn't the owner of the car driving. He let one of his friends drive that was used to driving either a FWD or AWD car and was too stupid to get both feet in when he spun.

This is not an autocross, don't even call it one! There would be no trees, there should be safety worker sites all along the course, with a fire extinguisher, a flag, and a two way radio. I don't even see a timing gate at the start. Only an instructor can be a passenger, and he wouldn't be riding along with his arm out the window. Also, he wouldn't let the driver get that out of hand. This is just a cluster f*&#, run by a bunch of complete f*&#-ups, giving Solo II/autocross a bad name.

@jimhbs85 track time sounds awesome, but i am 20 years old and i heard it can be expensive. and believe me i know how my car handles. ive been in north carolina for the past 1 1/2 years and the road outside our house is like the dragons tail haha.
@cityslicker202 1) track time is expensive BUT autox is not ($50 max)2) I too grew up in a mountainous area with a LOT of really windy back roads. 3) I too thought I knew how to drive. 4) Once I started autoxing I was better than other noobs who did not grow up in this type of area but that i still had a LOT to learn and have continued to learn becoming a safer driver in the process and finally 5) we get people with your mentality all the time come out and realize how little they actually know.

@03CobraConvert Yep, sucked cause we lost the sites. An airport let us use a taxi runway. It was sold, and the new policy was if it didn't have wings, no tarmac. Also, Palisades Mall, J lot, next to Home Depot. Supposedly, the neighbors, whom were on the other side of a freight train, and a pond, didn't like the noise. Uh-huh. They were all SCCA, and I do not remember passengers. I got rides, but it was always in an instructor's car; Pat Salerno, Mike "Junior" Johnson, Tom Frey.

@03CobraConvert Yep, sucked cause we lost the sites. An airport let us use a taxi runway. It was sold, and the new policy was if it didn't have wings, no tarmac. Also, Palisades Mall, J lot, next to Home Depot. Supposedly, the neighbors, whom were on the other side of a freight train, and a pond, didn't like the noise. Uh-huh. They were all SCCA, and I do not remember passengers. I got rides, but it was always in an instructor's car; Pat Salerno, Mike "Junior" Johnson, Tom Frey.

@tuugfo lol alot of people do. a fox body with the maximum motorsports suspension pack still ranks in the top 10 all time fastest through motortrends slalom test, beating out ferraris, porsches, corvettes, and all other manor of super cars. low weight, rwd, excellent motor, cheep parts. you would be an idiot to not race with a fox body

To everyone whining about the camera dropping during impact...Did you ever stop to think that maybe the camera man stops filming because he runs over to help the person or to see if the person is okay instead of standing around like a useless lump filming stuff while someone could be seriously injured?? People that stand around and gawk and film instead of helping make me sick...
