@navymankid Well, SPOILER ALERT!! for anyone who hasn't seen that far (major spoiler), but he was trying to bring his brother back from the dead. Al sacrificed himself for Ed, and then Ed sacrificed himself for Al. That's how Ed ends up in the "other world" we see him in for the movie--Al gets brought back to life, and Ed gets pulled through the gate.

I think that the scene where Ed stops the car would fit in better with the part where he mentions losing the argument in a cable car, while showing the exchange between Mustang and Ed. But, that's just me, it's still a very good AMV. :)
