android phones are well welcomed and still keep a good sale ,they are popular to the young and the businessmen ,the reason is mainly depends on the voip services
on acer e130 voip is really bad... Btw android is turning me off... Nice graphics everything... but then the basic thing of what a telephone should do is missing... NO...
its awesome that this is possible, but i didnt understand anything that i saw in this video. what do i have to do to get this voip thing working on an android phone? and can i make calls to home phones with this too?
What do you do if you want to make a cellular call?
On Symbian it's easy, SIP is integrated into the OS, so when you dial a number you have an option of either "voice call"(cell) or "internet call"(SIP), the same applies to contacts.
@Vitruviux I use the n95, and I live in the UK, when I first saw the Voip integrated to the OS I couldn't believe it... Voip has changed the whole idea of mobile phones. loving it.
I'm thinking in getting me a Android, hopefully it's just as good.
The app looks really cool, but I can't make it work.
My SIP account works fine with SipAgent and Fring, but I don't like Fring since it requires you to register in it's network and SipAgent is horrible in it's UI. What can I do to make Sipdroid work?
t-mobile listen up. ur all a bunch of idiots. open the uma and tether for capable phones.
don't charge for uma. Gain market share you are the only company that has uma. I'd imagine it would free bandwidth for tower users since we all make a huge amount of calls from home where we all have wifi. and don't even think we are going to buy that idiot product "say goodbye" Think long term market share and not short term revenue. the only reason i'm with is android. when att gets it i'm gone
how did you set it up on your phone

Make free outgoing/incoming calls on any android device, without using Gizmo 5/Sipsorcery/Evan Charlton's GV app.
Gizmo5 subscriptions are closed, Sipsorcery is not giving new accounts, Here is the FIX. No Gizmo5, No Sipsorcery.
Check my video at youtube, search by my username: StonedGenius

Would loooove to have this app for my G1. Been testing SIP devices with WiFi on our IP-PBX at work.
Any idea when this might hit the market?

considering at&t charges around $90 for their 450 minute plan with text and web, and tmobile charges $60 for their 500 text and web.
also android always has been able to tether, its called pdanet app
what advantages is there to have at&t android over tmobile android?
oh u can tether with at&t but they charge you 10$/month

Sweet! Just got a G1 and was worried there was no VOIP. This will be perfect for when I'm in Europe for the year! Thanks! :D

Can't wait!
I love t-mo but between VoIP and tethering, I have to be a rebel.
Will this work for un-rooted phones?

It works with the 1.1 and in the meantime with the 1.5 plattform)
