  • beautiful car!

  • Beautiful car, like other Studebakers it was ahead of its time (and customer's tastes), just like the Avanti was.

  • If they'd made a 4 door in the manner of the Honda Element or Nissan Juke where there's no visible rear door handle, they could have retained the 2 door line with the 4 door functionality.

  • These cars looked great in coupe form (as shown here), but failed as sedans -- the lines just didn't transfer well to a four-door model. Even today they look ungainly, while the two-door is recognized as a true classic.

  • The car shown in the vid is one of the first 500 off the line, as indicated by the tri-star hood ornament. Its design was so close to Mercedes' own trademarked star emblem that Mercedes sued Studebaker to get it removed. Studebaker entered into a consent decree to do that, and the star was replaced.

  • @50zcarsman Agreed! I owned a 1954 Regal Delux Commander 232 V-8 with wire wheels... best looking car around. The sedans were hideous--- unfortunately Studebaker screwed up & made more sedans when people wanted the coupes.

  • i think this had some inpacked for the Studebaker Avanti.

  • This looks like the kind of car King Kai (from dbz) would want to own. In other words, this car looks awesome.

  • Even today this car looks beautiful, modern and desirable.

  • and lexus /camery think they have a good looking car

  • eww

  • @britneytimberlake11 Like my grandma said this was not a good car to have sex in. She said the fenders were better for sex especially when the motor was running.

  • My grandfather had this car, it was beautiful, wish it would have stayed in the family!
